Guys, I ride a Can-Am Outlander, but today there have been pictures and write-ups released about a new Polaris sxs called the RZR, it's got the same 800 class motor as the Sportsman 800, bucket seats, Rear IRS, and it looks absolutely awesome!!!!!

It goes on sale in April for about $10K (US).

Check out this link:

This is a link I have for a short video, this is one awesome machine. Polaris should sell a boat load of em.

See what ya think.

You can go to ATV Sport magazine's website, they have a full write up on it as well, very cool...

It come's in under 1000 pounds which would qualify as an ATV here in N.Y.state , plus it is only 50 " wide . That's the problem with the side x sides , they are all over 1000 and you cannot register them as an ATV here .Your right , they will sell a bunch of 'em :thumb2:

Whats the HP on the Outty 800? Polaris is claiming 52hp, without changing the CCs. Why don't they go ahead and bump up the HP more? The Sp800 claims 50hp, I know 2 more Hp isn't much but obviously they can/know how to get it without adding CCs. I wonder if they just went with a more performance exhaust and mounting the engine sideways and reduced the belt slack gave it another 2hp. Its a pretty hot topic right now and ATVers can look at this thing and see what may be on future 2008 Polaris Quads. oops did I say that???:omg:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Can-Am has stated HP of the 800 at 62.

61.6 but close enough, so the Hp of the RzR will be closer to the outty 650 @ 55.2..

Just seems to me Polaris could open it up if they wanted too. So why don't they? I think they are tired of the who is bigger and faster keepin up with the jones types and going more after a broader customer group.

Probably so, but if your going to run an 800cc machine, why not make 60+ HP with it? I mean Rotax does everyday...:)

Actually The sp800 is 760cc, just in case you didn't know:) I know its stupid to have 800 on the side and not have within 10cc of what it actually is.:pu:

What I think you will find is that the other manufactors rather than worry about uping the HP have leaned more toward improving what they have and putting out a better machine.

I understand that and they all seem to be improving what they are putting out...Just seems to me that you would want to increase HP on a machine that weighs almost 1000 pounds. I mean I can beat an 800 Polaris with my 650 Bomb all day long, why would you put the same HP rated motor in a machine that weighs 200 pounds more? I understand the 800 is the largest thing they have out right now, but couldn't the output of that motor be raised slightly to overcome the additional weight? :2cent:

Don't look as if it is lacking any power as it is. You want to race buy an outlaw 525.

Thats the Debate isn it? Polaris has an answer for it but it leaves us going "huh?" I understand making a product better, but it is almost a black eye for their customers.

That is really a cool sxs, but I would like to see someone make a single seater, full performance deal, like the old odysees. And yes I dont know how to spell that.

I thought about that single seater too. If this thing takes off the way I think it will, I wouldn't be surprised to see one in the future.....GOTT
