judging from the photos, I would agree that there is no support umder the seat buttons, maybe that particular piece of plastic came from the molds too thin, maybe a reinforcement was missed or left out, might have been a new guy makeing the plastic that day, who knows. Heres what I would do, first, talk to your dealer, if it is a factory fault, than maybe they will replace it, if not, then I would fab up a small support that will bolt to the underside of the plastic useing the exsisting seat latch bolts. Just an idea.

Definately a manufactoring defect or I should say a design flaw. I checked a 05 today it was molded differently it didn't have the play this one has. So looks like it will be just 06 models. Since it is a manufactor flaw I will be looking to have it replaced, not my place to accept it as this is.

Ok took quad to dealer the rear was replaced by POLARIS under warranty. I looked at several other 06 and 07 they are same way, the 05 was stronger in that area. The dealer while at it added some support uner the screw that is in that area. Some washers and a piece of rubber then siliconed it so it wouldn't come out. While talking to Mechanic he saiod they just had another one come in same thing, so this isn't an isolated problem.
