Polaris Sportsman 800 Touring Named ATV of the Year by Affinity . Powersports Media s ATV Magazine

Powersports Media s ATV Magazine 14/05/2008 18:08:00 Business Wire US38259P5089 Polaris Industries today announced the Sportsman 800 Touring was named "ATV of the Year" by Affinity Powersports Media s ATV Magazine.

The ATV also received a "Best in Class" award for being the "Best Two-Passenger ATV." The Sportsman 800 Touring beat out the "Best Mega-Bore Utility" and "Best Open-Class ATV" winners for the prestigious "ATV of the Year" award.

ATV Magazine picked the Sportsman 800 Touring due to its innovative Active Descent Control which gives the riders four-wheel engine braking, and a design that puts the passenger first with features such as a large, comfortable backrest; soft, vibration-absorbing hand holds and vibration-absorbing foot rests.

ATV Magazine also applauded the Sportsman 800 Touring s beautiful finish that includes automotive-style paint and alloy wheels.

The award further validates Polaris claim that the Sportsman 800 Touring is "The World s Most Comfortable ATV." "Polaris two-passenger ATV line-up, which includes the Sportsman Touring and Sportsman X2 models, is the top-selling line of two-passenger ATVs on the market," said Mike Dougherty, VP and GM of the ATV Division for Polaris.

"We d like to thank ATV Magazine for recognizing the Sportsman 800 Touring as a premium ATV that leads the way in innovation and consumer appeal."  Ahh go ahead admit it! You all think they picked the wrong machine didn't they? I really wonder how much of this is based on an honest comparison and how much is based on how many advertising dollars $$$ did this company spend with us. Seems like every magazine has its' favorite and they're usually not the same brand......GOTT:raz:

I would say based on what I have seen and read about it, that I would be hard pressed to say they were wrong, at least as far as a 2 up machine goes, polaris seemed to really do there homework, and came out with what lloks to be the best 2 up on the market. The one thing that I think that they should have done is offer a cargo box insert for when you want to ride solo, you are not stuck with the back seat in the way, can-am still has the upper hand in that area, and overall power of course. The back seat does come off on the polaris, they just need to develope a box to pop in place when the seat is not needed.

Good to hear they finally came up with a better design than the, x-2. When I was comparing 2-ups, it was the first one I crossed of the list, because their passenger amenities were a joke.

I don't get it. Can-Am starts production in your country and you run out and buy an American made product. :scr:
