Well I have the chance to get a real sweet deal on a 06 BF 750, and other than owning a few of there dirt bikes ive never owned a Kawasaki ATV before, its always been either Honda or Yamaha.  So what are the pros and cons of this bike?  Good towing power?  And hows that big bad 750 vtwin?

my brother in law has a bf 650 and it is an awesome quad and yes im one of those that say if i didnt get the outlander 800 that wouldve been my next choice.  They have good towing power he pulled a 24 & 1/2 foot pontoon boat up a long steep grade with no problem.

I have an 05 Brute.

Fun machine !

It's quick and nimble on the trail, not as smooth riding as say a Sportsman 700, but not as heavy either.  Wheelies when I want, yet keeps it's stance when I need.  Steering is responsive as compared to my Sportsman 400 but not as nice as a Rincon.  Honda has the steering thing figured out as far as I'm concerned.  A Rincon steers like a BMW!  Sweet !

Your pullin 2 carbs with your throttle, so your thumb will get sore during a loooong day of riding. (Note to self.... Need to do more thumb exercises!)

I've hit 65 on asphalt and ran outa road.  That's with the Mudbugs on.  I expect I could get 70 MPH with stock tires and plenty of road.  Granted...not the 70+ you Bomb boys are seeing, but then I usually don't run asphalt roads either.  I rarely see speeds that fast nor have a need to. In fact...I think that's a bit scary fast for a 4-wheeler.

Minor issues with mine and others that I know of....

....boots between carbs and heads might be prone to tearing.  Keep an eye on 'em.  Cost about $7.50 per boot (OEM)  to replace so NBD as far as a maintainence item.

...mine uses a bit of oil if it's working hard in the higher RPM's.... say... thru wet snow all day.again, NBD, just keep an eye on it.  Kawi's don't have much room for oil in there so you need all you can get.

...check the machine your thinkin on to see if the A-arm bolts and the tie-rod ends are the new updated ones.  Not sure if those recalls effected the 06's  Pretty sure not the A-arm bolts but maybe the tie-rod ends.

...some machines have had issues with the brake actuator (engine braking) make sure your not getting a flash code on your display.  It'll flash 2WD/4WD at about 1 second intervals if there is a problem.  Will reset when you turn it off and re-start. Drive for a bit in 4WD...it'll start to flash in a mile or so if it's bad. If the actuator is bad...that's a $250.00 part.  Bummer !

while not an issue...the rear plug is a bugger to get at.  Most manufacturers do that I think just to piss you off...and Kawi didn't miss if that was their goal.  By the time you get the spark-plug socket in there...you can no longer see what your doing as it's too crowded.  Just put on a blindfold and do it by feel.  Use the force ! Once you have the front plastic off (comes all off in one big piece if you do it right) the rest of the mechanicals are easy to get at.

When I first got the Brute ( coming off of the Sportsman 400) I didn't like the 4WD as much as the Polaris system.  Now I've gotten used to the Kawi 3WD and pull the diff lock when you need 4WD.  I like Arctic Cat's lock system better....4WD lock is achieved with a lever you throw and it holds itself., the Brute you have to keep holding the lock lever in.  Not ideal, but you get used to it.  You can purchase an A-cat lever system and make it work with the Brute...put at @ $75.00 for the A-cat lever lock...I've decided to get use to the Kawi lever.

Would I buy a Brute 750 again ?   Yep !

27-12-12 Rears

27-10-12 Fronts

The Brutes have very tall wheel wells compared to other machines...makes tires look smaller.

The BF like CJ5Luke has A solid axle and is essentially the Prairie with new plastic, and is by far my favorite Brute. The IRS brutes are to me very lacking in the handling setup. There is a huge aftermarket list of available upgrades to take care of that, but to me its still not as powerful as the Outy 800 and by the time you pay for all the upgrades needed to get it up to Handel properly you could have just bought the Outy 800 to begin with. The brute 650 is very reasonably priced and also stable, powerful and fun to ride. I can not say the same for the Brute 750i. That is just my honest opinion of the brute line.
