Now I know alot of people jump on Honda for not being progressive, but come on taking their flagship out of the line-up. Two steps forward and five backwards. I can only hope they are trying to refine it and will still release it for 2006. Anyone know for sure?

My guess is that they are up to something for the 06 model that may be introduced as a half year model or just later in the year. I cannot see how they could discontinue the Rincon. IMO it's the only Honda I would consider buying ( only because I like IRS).

Rumor is they are making some modifications and it will be released later in the year. Might be adding EFI :2cent: At least Honda has one no show, Polaris has completely wiped out there line-up:lololol: I don't know what they are waiting for in releasing their machines. Maybe, they are saving the best for last since Bomb has the biggest beast on the block, and now Polaris will have to release a 1000cc or actually a 920cc, machine.

I have no doubt in my mind that they(Polaris) will counter with a bigger machine. Heck all they need is 801cc and they will have the biggest and they can call it an 850 LOL. It is goiing to take a lot to beat 62 horsepower and 52 lb ft of torque though

Bomb and Polaris have been rivals way back to the old Ski-Doo vs Polaris snowmobiles. This goes back to the 60's

The Rincon is probably going to get refinements of some kind or Honda would have had it on the 06 list. Does the Rincon have a locker now, disc brakes? My brother in law has a nice looking black Rincon (his 2nd one) and he says he would buy nothing else.:sm:

Ya wonder if they would make something bigger than a 800, considering , in Minnesota anyway, anything bigger than a 800 is considered an ORV and not an ATV.

That is the same in WI, they also have a 48" width limit there.

There will probably be some lobbying by manufacturers going on to relax these rules. Personally I think they should stop right there (with the 800's) and start to refine the smaller motors.

For more performance, they could make the mid size lighter,  tighten up the specs and clearances on the motors and build more efficient clutches and diffs.

I read somewhere that the clearance specs of an ATV motor were very similar to a lawn mower engine. SHEESH! If thats the case, they could squeeze a lot more power from the mid size engine.   just my :2cent: worth

Well we know where the Rincon was, it was being upgraded. It now has an EFI system, and a rear disc brake. It also comes in camo now.

Still no front locker, or low gear. These improvements are too slow in coming.

They have upped the cc's from 649 to 675 too!! What are they calling it a 700? If it wasn't for the open dif and the lack of low range, well maybe I would have considered it but then only 10" of clearance sux too.

I have rode a Rincon before, great trail machine and that is about it. Very light and nimble. But for the price you can get awhole lot more with the other machines.

As far as the motor it should last forever its a Honda. I know my 2002 Rubicon 500 runs like the day I bought it. But as far as power and that, it doesn't feel like a 500cc machine should, way under powered, but I am sure alot of that has to do with the tranny setup.

Oh the other thing with the motor, it said this is a 700cc powerhouse. Sounds like they are taking a page from Sportsman 800 = 760cc and Rincon 700 = 675cc. That means the Outty 800 must be 840cc. I love the marketing.

Yeah it seemed to be the older ones were always within a few cc's of the claimed number. polaris has to be the worst though with their 800 (760cc's)

The Honda motors do seem to last forever. I know at least a few of the old back breaking 300's still in service around here.

You know Honda could have a killer machine if they would just listen to what the people want.

EFI and disc brakes are great but not enough for me. Low range and a locking dif are a must have for me. I would never feel confident climbing hills in high range and I know about 3 WD having owned a Big Bear

Thats one good trait of Bomb, they do listen and actually do read the forums.
