Still hadn't heard about my Outtie so I called the dealer. They are waiting for parts. Turns out it wasn't the gasket on the water pump. I t was the main seal and the shaft or something. Waiting on pump. I thought someone else had the same issue. I was also told they had to pull the motor for this. I guess "Can-Am=job security" lol.

got my outtie Sat. I was surprised the tab was only $425. But the list of work completed was impressive.

1-New water pump. $50 ded

2-New feul pump to repair gage the is built into pump. $50 ded

3-New inner clutch assembly. Apparently bushing were working their way out. $50 ded

4- new front brakes. Two pads were beyond worn a little. Lucky no damage to rotors. $46 per side plus labor

5-Misc parts, oil, oil filter, etc. $42

6- 2 hours labor to perform service and brakes at $70 per hour. $140

Lucky for me I have a good dealer or the Bomb would be blown up. That tab was more than I spent on my Honda in 3 1/2 years. And that includes a new front wheel that I bent!!!

Lucky for me I have a good dealer or the Bomb would be blown up. Why blow it up? Get it fixed and trade it in on another 3wd, underpowered, no low range, yesterdays technology but dependable  Honda.

I don't know how you count but $5000 is a lot to loose on an atv in one year. That is more than 50% depreciation. I think before I lose $5000 I will invest in a 3 year old Rincon as a back up bike. I would be curious to see which miles go up quicker! That is if I only use the Honda when the outtie is in the shop.

Hold on there I would take any 450R against an DS650 anyday and the last I checked it was cheaper than the DS by $200.00 MSRP.

Honda,

i have owned both.......with very similar builds, and it would be a VERY good race between the two. who goes out and races stock fer stock anyhow??:lololol:

if the ds was lighter it would definitly walk the dog on the honda. BIG BLOCK VS. SMALL BLOCK argue all day long......

I switched from a 2005 rincon to a 2006 800 xt and I have not regretted it yet.  The bomb blows the rincon out of the water in every area (speed, engine brake,4 wheel drive, soft seat, low gear) except the plush rincon ride but its close enough for me.  Hope to see what bomb comes up with next, for 2009 maybe some upgrades or better yet a 1000cc outlander.  I am thinking of getting a max and if a 1000cc comes out its a no brainer "I'm buying". I hope they raise the bar since artic cat has the 950cc thunder cat.

My first response after riding an Outty was "WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG" good by foreman!

I actually read from some that the Outlander is more plush in the ride than the Rincon.
