Seems a bit played up to me.... think it was the "luxurious hotel"?

Yeah they sure make it sound wonderful. Truth is they have added some features that the other guys have had for several years.

outlandski, thanx for the post on the review. It doesn't seem that played up to me. I would really like to ride one and see what kind of difference it has with the efi and slightly bigger engine. The suspension is pretty good, but Honda could very easily make it great by adding some nice shocks. My biggest complaint about the suspension is that it is not adjustable. With the new additions to the 06, all they would have to do is add low range, a locking front diff., and some better shocks and this machine would be top 3.

Once a few more are out, I plan on going to test one just for fun.

they sure stress "automotive" comparisons I would think that would be a turnoff to a buyer cause they are looking for an atv not a mini car but dang it sure all sounds impressive but I would be courious as to how much engine braking it actually had too

Sure doesn't sound like the 'real world' reviews I've read from Rincon riders on the forums.  Most of the stuff in the review isn't new on the Rincon.  I don't see how someone can downplay the 'belt and pulley' system.  CVT's sure have impressed me over the last few years!!!

I'm not saying the Rincon is junk, I just think the article seems a lot like the Dirtwheels crap, except this article has a lot more factual information.

I bought a brand new 2003 Rincon and after 2 yrs of ownership,I got bored as heck with what the ATV did'nt have when compared to the other manufactures.I dont feel much differant about the new 680cc Rincon either.

Where's the low range, diff lock, adjustable shocks? All this lacking and still the highest MSRP in its class.

I don't think Honda ever meant to position this quad as a utility with low range nor have adequate engine braking although they tried, I've always seen it marketed as a SUV ATV more on the sporty side.

I agree that Honda has really turned off many potential buyers myself included because of drum brakes, and poor performance especially for a 650 now 680 why even advertising the increase.

However I do believe this new 2007 model will most likely be the best as it should be they've had three years to solve all of the problems which is unusal for a Honda product.

umm I doubt there is an SUV made today that has drum brakes, no engine braking and/or no lower range. so that kinda leaves that out I wonder what else they might of been thinking. Im just glad to see they are finally making an effort to catch up to the pack  before thgey get left to far behind.

I would not use the term SUV to describe it.

The ONLY reason I even bought the Rincon was because I was working at a Honda dealership at the time and was sick and tired of my last two Polaris 4x4 ATVs with belt drive.I had more issue's with those two ATVs than all the rest of the ATVs I've owned since 1983,especially the belt drive on them.So yes,I was very glad to see an IRS ATV that was driven by a real tranny and no belt to have to worry about.Funny thing is that I dont have the same belt issues with my King Quad or my new BRP 800.Must have been a Polaris thing back than.

But the more I rode with our local ATV club, the more appearant the shortcomings of my Rincon were.It did everything OK,but one could sure spot that it was not doing them nearly as easy as the other manufactures big bore ATVs did.And after I sold it and bought the new 2005 King Quad,I REALLY noticed the shortcomings of the Rincon.I wondered HOW I ever drove an ATV with such poor downhill engine braking?

I dont miss my Rincon a bit and I also dont recommend it to others. The new KQ is twice the ATV when compared to the Rincon, and costs far less.

It still only has a LSD front diff and Quote "500" class power. That little frenchie that wrote the review was probably scared sh#tless from the 800 he tested. Plus he's only 4.5 feet tall weighs about 110lbs wet! In my part of canada, the men tend to buy machines that fit the size of their trucks! BIG and powerful.

Actually he races quads for a living in the states you should really do some research before you decide to smart off.  He's not French the ride was sponsored by Honda of Canada but I guess the BIG and powerful men of Canada can't fu**in read.

Ask away any questions he opened up a forum:
