I just registered on this site last night after coming across it while searching for aftermarket parts. I noticed the list of members tonight and thought I should be on it. I just bought a green Outlander 800 two weeks ago here in Salt Lake where I live. It is in for it's 10 hour check up right now.

I noticed there is another member from Salt Lake (Max Z). I'm always looking for someone to ride with. If you would ever like company please let me know. I saw you went riding this weekend. I put mine in the shop for it's check-up because my budy that I ride with a lot (Prarie 650) is in California for the weekend, but I may have put it off if I would have had someone else to ride with.

One of the things I was looking for when I came across this site was skid plates and the Ricochet product looks great. I sent them an email tonight.

Has anyone put a twist throttle on their Outlander yet? I grew up on bikes and have been riding ATV's or ATC's since the early 80's, but have always converted my ATV's over to a twist and I am sick of the thumb throttle already.

Anyway - I'm proud to be a member and I'm really glad that I found the site.

So far I havent found a really good conversion. If you know of one or put one on yer 800 can you let us know all about it? I always thought the twist would give you more control. But figured  they put the thumb strainer on there for a reason so never messed with it.

danonfly welcome to our board! Kevin Z was the man that loaned his 800 to Ricochet for the fitting and development of the new skid plates.

Thanks for the welcome.

Don from Ricochet called me this morning in response to my email - seems like a really nice guy. My 800 is going into their shop tomorrow or Wednesday so they can make up some skid plates for the standard model. Will keep you posted.

I'm Team Outty 800 Wannabe #1!:dan:My day is MADE!  Hi Wildcard.  Yep, that's me over there - don't hold it against me, ok?   Been lurking here for a long time since this was the first ATV site I found even before getting the Outy.  Sentimental reasons, you know?  I remember when Outlandish was about the only one posting AND answering his own posts!   Big changes here since then & lookin good!:thumb2:
