I have been lurking around here for alittle while now too. I bought my 800 in October after seeing one run at QuadFest. It impressed me to the point that my YFZ450 is now for sale!

I finally picked up my yellow 800 Max XT a week ago.  What an awesome ride I love it.  The snow just started flyin here so I'll be testing out how the ACT tires do.  If they don't cut it new 27" Executioners will be added.

Hello to everyone. Been looking and reading on this site for awhile. Do like what I see.:) Sold 04 Rhino to get yellow xt 800 Bomb. No regrets at all. This machine gives me the power and speed that I like  to play with sports bikes with and yet is agill enough to handle all types of rugged terrain when I'm out running the trails. New updated front springs coming from BRP this week , I hope. Let the accessorizing begin

Great site,Great People

Glad to have you aboard, Yellxt.  By the way, what are "uprated" front springs?  Does your machine have dual springs (small tightly wound separate spring on the bottom of the longer coil)??

As far as I knew only the earliest production run had "single stage" springs, and  needed a dual-rate because of complaints about front end bottoming.

...just wondering.  Enjoy.

Turboman:

My 800 has the dual spring on the front. The bottom coils are completely collapsed and trying to overlap one another, makeing this spring useless. I can raise the front by hand 4 to 5 inches before the tires begin to move. Too much sag. BRP  informed me that there was a spring to remedy this problem, but had to tell dealer to contact BRP Tech Dept. Did so and springs are on the way. They didn't know any details about the springs.

Note:

Saw a 800 at the dealer that was just uncrated. It had a totally different spring on the front (single rate). By pushing up and down,it felt alot better than mine. I'll know more later this week.

Yellxt welcome to the AWF. I have the single spring on mine and they seem OK but I don't have the XT and figured thats why I didn't have the dual rate. I am riding with mine on the softest setting and haven't had any problems yet. But time will tell

Thanks Outlandish, Turboman for the welcome.

Outlandish, now that you mention it, the 800 I saw the single rate spring on was a base model. I"ll let you know what BRP sends as a replacement spring for the XT.
