Reading the specs on the Thundercat 1000, that 52" width is going make for a lot of problems, legal-wise.  It's going to require an awful lot of states to rewrite their maximum width laws, and open up an tremendous number of bridges, and gateways where the max is from 48 to 50".  With the public's mood about ATVs plenty of local administrators are going to be resistant about the additional money required for the necessary trail widening.

52" wouldn't even fit through the door opening on my closed trailer.

I'd bet that the lights are turned on all night in Can Am's engineering division.

Ya, I know. But those lime green stickers will have to go. Not sure what to do about the springs, I hope to upgrade the suspension with something that will lower it back down a little closer to earth.

Turbo, ATV rider stated that 52" stance coment, in a misleading way IMO. The 52" stance is really reffering to the fact that AC stretched the wheel base out an extra 2"s for the ThunderCat vs there normal 50" wheels base. Heck if that was width they were taliking about it would be wider than my RZR sidexside.

Blah, blah, blah........Much ado about nothing IMO!  :puke:

My 800 is absolutely the heaviest ATV I'd choose to own and I think it is too heavy personally.  To go above and beyond that is taking it beyond recreational.  I can't help but wonder if A/C isn't shooting for some of the military contract Polaris seems to own in the ATV market?

I find the whole my d*CK is bigger the your d*ck knuckle dragging, neanderthal mentality when it comes to who has the "biggest and baddest" of anything to be juvenile.

Bring the pussy(cat) on, I'll pound it with my Outtie!    :yikes

OK....the website is up and updated. It still says 188 ft.lbs of torque.....AT THE OUTPUT SHAFT. This is NOT at the crank. This is with the gear reduction of the CVT and the torque multiplication of the wet clutch behind the primary and whatever other gear reduction is in the primary drive.

So, add another 100 lbs to the dry weight?  I bet it touches half a ton with just fluids, throw in a winch, load it down with hunting hear and you're driving a VW Bug.

Mine was weighed on a digital scale this last Saturday. With a full tank of gas it weighed 695lbs.
