I made a short 30min video showing how to install a clutch kit. It is posted on YouTube for easier viewing.

Good post! What do you think of the Renegade weights on an Outlander 800? Some of the guys on here have them and like them.

For aggressive trail riding, do you think the epi springs are beneficial, can't hurt, in combination with the Renegade weights?

Is there a way to download this and put on a cd? I have never needed to do that but this would be nice to have on hand.

So when you-tube turns into a pay-site, if you get my drift. :)

Just veiwed the videos. Fanastic job John. I have pulled the clutch cover off before just to check stuff out. This video is well made, easy to understand and even I can now feel confident digging deeper ito the clutch assembly. Thanks!

Very good job answered a few questions my dealer couldn't. Now i have seen how easy it is to do. I have ordered a primary removal tool not the three the dealer wanted to sell me.

Keep em coming we need more vids like that.

As I live in Townsville Australia and I think I am the only one in the area with a 800 it's hard to get any info. Love the site has been invaluable information for me.

Nice job but you should really not use an impact gun on the bolts. They can cause bearing damage. And tightening should be done only with a torque wrench to obtain the proper torque value. I know everybody does it this way but you should at least make people aware that possible damage can result. If you don't have the proper clutch holding tool, you can improvise with a tie down strap or large strap wrench.

John i think you mispoke yourself in the second video, but i could be wrong.

You say that for heavier weights, you obtain more grip. And lighter weights give less. Then you say that the aftermarket weights are lighter. Now for this project, are you running bigger tires? I would think you would want more pressure on the belt from heavier weights with bigger tires. Am i wrong somewhere?

Lighter weights do not grip as much as heavier weights. The setup I was using was not a store bought kit but one that I was testing. With bigger tires you want lighter weights then stock because it raises your ingaugement RPM. This also works hand in hand with your primary spring.

Im under the right account now....

Also I agree that torque specs should be used but most people do not have the tools to do this. I was showing the most common way this is done.

Do you have to put the weights in when you change the springs? I bought the springs off of HIGH LIFTER and the guy said I didn't have to. I run 27" Big Horns.
