Did you disconnect your battery to reset the ecm? If so how is the increased hp?

Did I miss something? Never heard anything about disconnecting the battery.

Lamigratx and I spoke to one of the Can-Am Reps at the Can-Am Nationals and he told us that if you do any mods, like the air filter or exhaust, you have to disconnect the negative side of your battery for atleast 3 minutes. When you start it back up it will recalibrate the ecm for the new changes. This was as much a surprise to me as it is to you. Maybe someone else on here can back this up.

Did you get your disks yet? Just wondered how much they quieted it down. Are they like the Supertrapp disks and can you vary the quantity?

Yes I got them and they are Supertrapp discs. It comes with the adapter, 18 discs, end cap and a heat shield. I am running 13 right now and it sounds good. Maybe a tad loud but I'm sure taking one or two more out would make it acceptable to most anyone. I'll get a pic of it when I wash it. I was just out playing and it is very muddy right now

I am looking for an exhaust for my 08 ,renegade 800. Do you have a sound clip of your system and do you recommend the woods exhaust? I don't mind the cost involved, just want the best sound. Thanks

No I don't have one. Personally I think this pipe sounds better than any others I have heard. It is loud but fine tunable with the spark arrestor kit. The only clip I know of is just idling here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMzXZRS3YPQ

Thanks. The woods exhaust is probably the way I will go.

@outlandish:

Are these the 4" Supertrapp discs you´re using on your RW? I´m thinking of ordering a RW at DiamondG the next days, and I have some 4" discs here from my LTZ pipe, which I could also use then...

Thanks
Andy

Yes they are 4" supertrapp discs but you would need the adapter to use them. The won't just screw into the end of the pipe.

Pipe without the discs:

Pipe with:

I think you would have to buy the whole kit to get the adapter. It includes about 18 discs, the adapter, the heat shield and end cap

Thanks for the fast answer outlandish. I will buy the whole kit (cause of the adapter), but it´s good to know that I can use my adjustable Supertrapp Snuff R Not endcap. This replaces the standard Supertrapp endcap, has three to five holes (depends on the model) and you can open/close the holes (and so make it quieter or louder) just by turning one srew... Quiet for trails and loud for closed track racing - adjustable in 2 seconds...

Available in billet polished or black

That sounds very cool. Let us know how it works with the Wood pipe.

Sure I will... I´ll order the RW tomorrow and hopefully DiamondG has the Renegade System and the discs in stock and ready to ship. I´ll let you know as soon as I get it, which I think will be in about 2 weeks (shipping to Germany isn´t that fast...)

It doesn't recalibrate. You don't need to do it but it is very good to do it.

The ecm has a memory and will adjust its internal maps to the way you ride. Fuel trim is a parameter that will change (short term and long term). Usually it will lean the map as much as possible while being safe(better milage & emmissions) If you disconnect your battery the learned values will reset. If you don't the computer will eventually relearn anyway but if your leaning your machine out more with a pipe or mods, a reset is safer.
