Here are the instruction for installing the dalton clutch kit. These were posted by 800ccgrin. Outlandish and I followed these pretty much to the letter and did the install with ease in less than an hour.

"I used an impact wrench(electric) with a 19mm socket(i think thats the size), to remove the primary.  no holding tool needed.  Leave the belt on, no spiting the sheaves.  careful when you pull the primary off so that the big spring(the one you're going to replace), doesnt pop the clutch off onto the floor.  remove the whole thing(primary/bolt/spring), and lay it on a clean bench.  The primary comes apart(two halves), and is ballanced at the factory, so put some marks on both halves so you know how it goes back togather.  When you pull the two halves appart, don't lose any of the little nylon/plastic buttons(they'll fall out and roll all over the floor.  they're the size of a nickle).  after that it's a matter of replaceing every other fly weight with the dalton.  the hardest part i found of the whole task was pressing the steel rivets into the weights.  i used a vise and a cheater bar to crush the little bastards, but it would almost be easier to get bigger tires and leave the rivets out:).  replace the weights(oh yea, don't forget the little washers on either side of the weights.  they're a btch if you have fat fingers), put the halves back togather lining up your marks you made before you took it apart.  push the new green dalton spring in the back of the primary and bolt er back on.  not sure what the torque spec is for the bolt, but a couple o good hits with the impact will hold her.  careful not to break it off...that would suck.  i cleaned everything up with break cleaner while i had it apart.  not to hard a job if you have the right tools and a warm, well lit place to do it.  if i wasn't dealing with dial-up, i'd video or photo the process for you.  maybe someones got a step by step pic of it."

Zac, are either of the bolts that hold the primary clutch and driven clutch reverse threaded? I am looking to pull the back of my clutch cover off to seal it to the engine and about the only piece of info i don't have is whether or not the bolts are right hand threads or not. Thanks for the info, FMJ40

I have only pulled the primary off, and it is normal (lefty loosey) threads. Can't help you on the secondary.

the secondary is standard threads but remember there is a torque on bolts. I beleive that the primary is 74 ft-lbs and the secondary is 44ft-lbs but not quote me on that

What exactly does the clutch kit do? quicker respone off the throttle or more torque with the same response? My problem is it takes a split second for the clutches to engage and I dont like that. How much does the kit cost and where can we get it?

that's a disaster

- if you read the instructions that come with the kit, you torque the bolt to 74 or 75 ft lbs. put a block of wood between clutches.

NEVER install a bolt into a crank with an impact gun.

impact guns will very easily torque to 250- 450 ft lbs (depending on the gun) very quickly

1- the vibration can unbalance/ shift the crank webs

2- a long bolt will stretch very easily

3- crank threads can pull out easily

4- the aluminum clutch will distort/ warp

5- you will flaten the concave lock washer past its spring state

any of these can cause the clutch to come loose at 8000 rpm or be unbalanced at a certain rpm which is another disaster waiting to happen.if it doesn't happen the first time,i t may the next. done properly you could take your clutch apart 100 times. done wrong can be very costly later.

impact wrenches are for loosening, not tightening.
