I honestly did a search first, several different wordings but I can't find what I'm looking for.

My buddy installed the Warn 3.0 on his wheeler. This is the same story I have read many times about the 2.5. Goes out but won't come back in. Towards the end of the day it wouldn't do either only click, click, click.

Anywho, is this the solenoid? If I recall, I think you guys were just calling Warn and they would send you a new one? Is this correct?

Mine did the same thing, but would go in and not out.  I removed the winch and some of the internal parts were broken.  They were easily replaced for about 30 bucks.  Much better than buying a new one!

mine is in the process of being repaired at the dealer...said he would have it done by end of the week. If you cross it at the solenoid and it works the problem is the solenoid isn't it?

Take a spare battery and remove the factory + and - wires to the winch. Then put the battery + and - on the same posts on the winch. It will go out if the winch is good. The reverse the wires from the battery and it should go in... If the winch works both ways, then the solenoid is shot. If it doesn't, then U have an internal winch motor problem.

With a definitive answer like that, I'll stick this in the "how to" area.

NBM, your instructions worked perfectly. We tried the spare battery and the winch worked in and out. My buddy called Warn and they said the solenoid or connecter was under recall. They will be sending a new one for free.

Thanks. :)
