If you have any questions about their product feel free to start a thread in this forum. They do not yet have a website for their shocks. I have put up a temporary site for info on them. http://aurorawheelers.com/Crutchfield/

They can be reached at 706-931-2513 They take all major credit cards and can even do a fax check or e-mail check

What is Crutchfield's specialty? ATV shox, or off road shox in general? How about some company history.

Welcome to Aurora Wheelers

Hi guys it Ed Crutchfield owner of Crutchfield Performance. Our website is

http://crutchfieldracing.com

We don't have any shock info up yet.Our background is building circle track dirt & asphalt cars that are motorcycle powered by gsxr-1000 fuel injected engines that we also build in house. This is our 11th year of building race engines & race cars.We made a clean sweep at florida speedweek winning every nite competing against 40 of the fastest cars in the us & canada.

I purchased a can-am 800 max a few months back and was impressed with the machine except for the suspension.Being a expert chassis tuner on the race cars I decided to go to work on the can-am.We are a bilstein motorsports shock distributor.I tryed numerous shock valvings & spring combos before coming up with one that I think is almost unreal. It loves the rough stuff. The faster you go the better it feels.

Pricing For the shock & dual spring set up is $695.00 per pair ready to bolt on.

Springs are avail.from 80# to 500# in 20# increments $60ea. so you can tune to your liking.

We will have 6 set ready to ship next week.

We can ship to anywhere

Ed I think my setup would be perfect with 180# springs on the bottom half.

Guys it's hard to explain the difference riding the Outty with these shocks and with the BRP shocks but it's like riding a different machine. A better, more tuned machine.

I plan on finding out how my Can Am handles with the Bilstein shox, as soon as the dealer comes thru with the fronts, i have the rears. Good to know that i can  spring them to my liking, though!

The formula for effective spring rate using two stacked springs is

1/Keff = 1/K1 + 1/K2

180# is 180 lbs / inch if I am not mistaken.  So a 180# spring topped with a 70# spring gives an effective spring rate of 50.4#.

Outlandish I will send you a set of 160# out on monday. That will give you more choices on your ride.I would start with 200# pri.160#sec.If its still to stiff for your liking change the pri.to the 180# just return the ones you don't need.

Mikey v the bilsteins the can-am dealer sells are not in anyway the same as what I sell. The springs that i sell will not fit.The only thing they have in common is the name.

One more thing I will give everyone 30 day trial period with these shocks. If your not happy just return them for a full refund.THX. Ed

Great! I'ts sure nice to be able to dial in to my riding style and comfort preferences instead of a choice of just a couple clicks on the stockers. Thanks Ed

Hi All,

I just got off the phone with Ed, a very smart chassis guy in the Auto racing world and it seems as if he has dedicated some time and thought to this Can-Am shock issue. Lucky for us!!!!

I Bought a set that he says should ship this Friday. I will give my impressions as soon as I get a good trial done. I race a Formula Ford in the northeast and will be crossweighting the 07 650 Max XT before and after the Crutchfields. I will be preparing a bump steer measurement and correction set-up as well, if there is anyone interested. THe Motion Ratio will be determined and from there can do a pretty good job getting a balanced quad. and maybe do without a steering damper.

More to come:)
