Man o man. I'm getting really frustrated with my 06' 800! XT Camo pkg. Love the machine's performance and all but have had SEVERAl nagging problems..here is a what I've had happen and the explanations! Only 900 miles and been in shop at least 10 times. i have owned several ds650's and love them.

*Inaccurate Speedometer
reads 60mph whe stopped. Off by at least 10mph
First the dealer recalibrated the Cluster/Ecm. Actually did this like 3 times and             replaced the Speedo head once. Then the changed the trans. fluid twice.                 Apparently, the initial wearing of internal metal parts was screwing up the speed     sensor because of the metal shavings. Seems to be ok now.

*Input shaft seal to rear differential walked itself out leaked all the fluid out and         ruined the differential. Dealer replaced complete differential. Hasn't happened             again and will keep my fingers crossed.

* Front plastic had stress crack 6 inches by left hand side rear rack  hole. i installed mudflaps for the rear that hang  down below the rear bumper...I "bumped" one         with my log splitter when turning around in reverse...needless to say, it flexed the     mudflap and the plastic cracked about 8 inches...almost exactly where the                 mudflap installs..the cracked basically follwed the molded body line in the plastic.     When i talked to the dealer about it (They had replaced front plastic under                 warranty but would not replace the rear plastic) he told me the plastic in the             camo pkg seems to be more brittle then the reguler colored bikes, ACCORDING TO     BRP. Used a plastic welder to fix the rear but still pisses me off, you know.

* Stalling, erratic idle, hesitation.....
This is the problem i am currently dealing with and has me brewing...The bilke will Idle for awhile normally..At first it would idle down like it wanted to stall, the it seems to correct itself and so on. While driving it, I would cruise at about 35 and the floor it...it would almost fall on it's face and then take off...it wasn't really stalling at this time so i thought maybe I had some bad gas...added HEET and drove some more. Also was running 93 octane anyway but added some boost to see if it would help...didn't. Now it started to stall out and would not restart..Had "No communication with ECM" scrolling accross the LCD. Turn Key off several times and then would start but stall right away. Took to Dealer...they performed an update from BRP to ecm that was supposed to correct a start stall problem they were aware of. You guessed it...didnt fix it. Will idle and stall. I can drive it and it doesn't seem to hesitate or anything but when i slow down or stop, it dies and sometimes will restart without having to recycle the key. Called BRP and started case file, man this is frustrating...Ive got 11k stuck in this, NO WAY should this bike have these problems. Headed to dealer today.

ANYONE ELSE HAVING THESE STUPID BUGS?????

* Stalling, erratic idle, hesitation.....

I've scene this when the fuse box got wet when the engine was cold.  Since I put the bike away cold it did not evaporate the water in the fuse box and they corroded.  I had to replace some fuses and add dielectric grease to them.  Problem was solved.

Check your battery terminals , they have to be tight. This is one of the single most common causes for performance and drivability related problems.

Only bug has been a loose battery connection.  I rode the snot out of mine first few months just to make sure if there were any bugs they worked themselves out right away, that battery was the only one.

Actually seems kind of odd, most people don't seem to be having any major problems.

Thanks.....I will deffinetly pass that along to the dealer....It sure acts like a connection/power supply problem.
