i know this has been talked about alot on this forum but icant find it now. im looking for procedure to reseal the back of cv housing w/silicone so no water gets in.does this need to be done by a mechanic or is it somthing that can be done by me. i dont have to much exper w/this motor and would hate to screw things up. if anyone could direct me to the procedure it would be great

Your dealer's mechanic will know what to do. Just tell him to put additional waterproof silicone on the inside o-ring of the input shaft of the CVT.

Another solution, a better one I think, is to order a OEM o-ring yourself, and then take it to NAPA or a good auto parts outlet and tell them you want a little thicker o-ring with slightly smaller I.D and larger O.D. If he's sharp he'll give you a couple different o-rings that meet your request.

Your mechanic can smear on some silicone and install it.  :2cent:
