We've only ridden here once and it was a few years ago so I have kind of limited info. Carnegie is located south of Tracy CA. Tracy is about an hour east of the bay area depending on where you live and about 90 minutes south of Sacramento. Access is very easy with somewhat limited parking from what I remember. The riding here is mostly hill climbs or trails on the sides of hills, we had a bad experience shortly after we arrived so we have never returned. My buddy took off up the first hill we saw, he was riding my other buddies new Raptor, he got halfway up and lost it, rolled back about halfway down, bent the axle and handlebars as well as scraped him up pretty good. This kind of put a damper on our day but I just remember being extra cautious because so many of the trails went up the side of steep hills and if you went over, well you were over! I believe it's a few thousand acres but because of the hills the trails are kind of limited in length. Conditions are dry, hot and dusty June-Sept. There were rangers working the day we arrived, about four of them but not exactly sure why. Took all four of them half of an afternoon to move a truck with a broken front axle, was almost like watching Keystone cops. They had this 4x4 pickup with a broken front axle, they weren't 100 yards from us and they were trying to use a back hoe with a chain to lift it and move it <sigh> they spent a few hours doing the exact same thing over and over and over again. We should have had a video camera. When we left, they still hadn't managed to move it. There are our tax dollars well at work! They film one of those insane dirtbike hill climb episodes here once a year, there is a hill called the widowmaker that guys try to make it to the top of.
