One thing on the 330 's and 400 's, make sure to hit the grease nipples on the front and rear universal joint when doing an oil change. I have customers with anywhere's from 1000 miles to 17000 miles on their outlanders and those who did not hit these nipples with grease will almost guarntee that the u-joints will blow up and take out the joints as well as the yolks. You can buy re-build or packing kits for the joints, a little costly. BUT most dealers will not warranty this failure as it is not the parts fault, but improper maintance. Most of these failures occured around the 5000 to 6000 mile mark. Don't be lazy. The front nipple on the rear u-joint is hard to hit, but don't forget it! Just a tip.:sm:

Very good reminder as the shop manual and and owner's guide don't mention the front u-joint on the Outty 800. The front drive shaft has one U-joint with a grease fitting and the rear drive shaft has 2 u-joints with grease fittings.

Anyone have how-to steps to replace the CVT belt on my Outty 800?  I have plenty of tools, and I can see what looks like it has to be removed to swap the belt, I just don't want anything unexpected to fly off on me!  Any help is appreciated so I don't have to have the dealer swap the belt.  I'm not sure I can walk it off the rear pulley or not since it's pretty snug.

Thanks OSOKILL!  Once I get that metric bolt, will I need to turn or grind the threads off the end so it looks like the OEM puller?  I'm just wondering how close to the puller dimensions the bolt will have to be to work properly.  The "how-to" was a big help!

The end of the bolt scars the aluminum a little, but not enough for me to worry IMO. Here are a couple pics.

Bad news for anyone looking for those M8x1.25 metric bolts in Home Depot.  The only ones they stock are about 3" long.  I found them on-line at boltdepot.com.  After I placed the order, I had them in 2 days, no minimum quantity.  They are 5 and 7/8ths inches long, and should work fine.

I took a longer M8 bolt and continued the threads down to the head with a thread die.  Then I bought an EPI clutch kit, and it came with one, so now I have 2.
