The Woods pipe is a system with the head pipe . I was going to go with the stage 3 setup and when i talked to them was told they dont have a stage 3 setup, also the cams dont work because of the cam sensors to the ecm. I was ready to lay down the big bucks to get the hp.I even canceled the r.wood pipe i had on order. with out the cams the larger valves dont do you any good.If you go that far you should get a port and polish too.

Stage 1 should get you about 10hp or 20%. Thats all I am doing for now to my Renegade. I got my base line numnber for stock yesterday, I will let you know in a few days how it turns out. I wanted to do it all the way.I dont like the 12.1 piston, i had rather have a 11.5-1. One of the best things you can do is a get a good P&P job. So is you machine down now or are you waiting.

Ya, sorta. I dropped Ole blue and the Renegade off a week ago monday. ole blue was getting fitted with a set of custom 37mm carbs and the renegade was going to get the RW intake and exhast installed. So far as of last night the renegade had been dynoed in stock form and Ole blue was sporting its new carbs but the carbs were not dialed in yet. My engine guys just became a yamaha dealer a few weeks ago and topping that off with the normal spring rush, I had to wait 2 weeks just for them to get the shop cought up enough so they would have room to park my machines inside. So right now I am waiting on them to polish out the sled itake thats sorta a rough cast part and then install the pipe and intake, and dyno again. After the dyno I will run it back by the dealer and have him put my outlanders fatter fuel map in it and then test it again to make sure the AFRs are safe to run with. They should be they were ony in the mid 13 range on my outlander when we had the stage 2 and a good ported and polished. This time no big valves or no internal work at all it should be fine without having to drag out the TFI. I would think so. My engine builder suggested it last summer when we did the stage 2 on my old max project. I just figured the smoother the intake the better the flow.

Right i agree. I was told i could get close to the same hp as the rw in take and pipes, with a modded lid and dobeck with slipon for hundreds of bucks cheaper. I didnt like the way rw run his pipes..they are not the same lenght which means as you know not in tune. also they are not s/s and will rust from the inside, unless ceramic coated. The thing is to mod the lid.I made a nice nole that exposed almost all of the filter. They have a cloth you can get that will cover the hole and stop sand an other debris from getting into the box.I know of one person who took the guts out of the muffler to relieve back pressure, however its not tuned so i dont know how good it works. When rw gets the bugs worked out i will probably go with the full monty later if i still have the quad.My problem is when the new stuff comes out if i like it i usually upgrade.Rumor is can-am has a DS 450 in the works with aluminum frame.

Yes, however you get more gain from the exhaust work in the P&P work.

It started with trial and error on cars yrs ago. They have it down to a science now.You can ever choose the level of performance for the P&P work.for whatever type of riding you do.

OK, Those neat little bumps and rough edges inside the intake runners are called flaws. Flaws from the castings. To get the most performance from the design of the intake runners the FLAWS need to be removed. The manufacture dosent do it because they try to save as much time = money as possible and still give you a machine that will run pretty good.

Thats pretty much what my mechanic said, and it made since to me as well.
