.....and with the lightweight magnesium motor and the already very light REV X chassis, hp may not come into play so much here.....

You have a point there we have a 07' Yamaha Attak and a 08' 800R Ski-doo rated at 150hp and 151hp respectively. They are close on takeoff, slight edge to ski-doo, but with a heavier driver the skidoo walked away from the yami at about 100'. Both have the same track, length and studs. This was in about 12" powder snow. The yami just seemed to want to spin while the ski-doo hooked right up and was gone. The 2 stroke rotax is much lighter on the front, maybe its because of the weight transfer when you hit the go button, I don't know. Ski-doo sure has upped the bar in the last few years. FYI the attak is a 998cc 4-stroke.

The new XP 1200 MXZ will silently retire the Yamaha Nytro. Same HP, more torque ( extra 200cc's ) and 50 lbs lighter. Good bye Yamaha 4-stroke. It'll be like compairing the OL 650 to the Yam 700..... No contest. Just wait till Doo gets a taste of the 4-stroke market and drops a bomb!
