How many of you camp with you ATV?...I don't mean putting your ATV in the back of your RV. I mean you carry all you camping gear on the ATV.

I would really like to try this sometime...I enjoy camping (ok I got a small pop-up) but would love to use my ATV to get out off the beaten path and camp for a few days out on the trail.

I'd like to see some of your rigs packe up with camping gear and some general camping pics.

How about a list of stuff you pack for a two or three day trip.

My ATV club as a nice aluminum dual axle ATV trailer than any club member can use. I could hold enough camping gear for about 5 people easily.....so I got that going for me:thm:

Yeah I got cabin fever

OK here are some pics of my Grizz and how I have it set up.  this is my huntin setup. I go with what I would need if I break down on my way back to camp at night and Im still 30 miles out.

I have the Kolpin Tool Press that holds my shovel and Axe. and that wrap around bag carries toilet paper, first aid kit, Dear bag, knife and pruning shears,

 http://www.aurorawheelers.com/gallery/data/514/Dscf0008-S.jpg

Fender bags carries munchies on the left and electronics and binocs on the right

http://www.aurorawheelers.com/gallery/data/514/dscf0012-S.jpg

Round thing is a pop up blind that I can use as a tent. and in my rear bag I carry a tarp, heavy coat, blanket and a kolpin cooler that carries drinks and FOOOD!!!!

http://www.aurorawheelers.com/gallery/data/514/dscf0017Gs1.jpg

Under the rear bag is a kolpin fuel pack. It's is a handy item cause if you run outta gas obviously BUT also if you need to make a fire :) and in the front bag I carry tools & electrical repair, tire repair, light and heavy gloves, insect repellant, ammo, more munchies, Telescoping fishin pole and reel and a VERY small "fit in yer back pocket"  tackle box.

If I was planning on camping I would tie a sleeping bag and a small backpack type lanten to the top of my rear bag and I would buy some MRE's to take along for meals

Where do you buy most of the accessories? I can't seem to find rack bags or hard boxes I like.

The 3 rack bags came from Yamaha. the fender bags, Fuel pack, Axe and Kolpin Tool press  came from Cabelas. Cabelas stopped carrying the tool press but they can still get it. if you need info about it let me know. I found camo bags in the Advantage Timber pattern if you want to match yer camo 800, at Kodiak.  Kodiak also carries the pistol gun mounts and several other things a little cheaper than cabelas (which is the cheapest place I have found to buy accessories)

I see that you have the spotlight for those low light shooting conditions. Along with enough guns to fend off a hoard of attacking insurgents. That's what I like to see.

Yup they, I mean the animals of course, can sometimes be out a few hundred yards. That's when you gotta break out the big guns.

Yeah ~ Yamaha bags are the only ones that I like. Are those Yamaha bags waterproof, and if they get dirty, is it easy to wash them?

I'd say very water resistant. they repel very well but you cant leave em parked in the rain for long periods ... unless you spray em with more water repellant. you just have to do it yearly. usually depending on wet use. I havent had too much troubles with dirt.  just empty them. get yer nylon brush and bucket of mild soapy water and go at it. then spray off and let dry

I northern B.C. where I live it is common to go camping with quads up into the mountains. One of the common places to go is redfern http://www.pris.bc.ca/walkabout/ We usually pack in tub trailers as there is always someone stuck during the trip and you need to unhook and pull them out. In the mountains it is common to have thundershowers and keeping your bedroll dry is very important. One trick is to put your sleeping bag in a clean 5 gallon pail with a good sealed lid. Nothing worse than a wet sleeping bag on a cold night. We usually go on a weekend trip or two close to home first. Then you find out what you are missing for gear and what you don't need. Hope you have fun - go exploring !!

YOU NEED TO TALK TO OUTWHEELER 800.   HIM AND ANOTHER GUY GO OUT FOR 8 TO 10 DAYS AT A TIME AND CARRY IT ALL WITH THEM.   PRETTY HARD CORE THE WAY THEY DO IT    IF THEY FORGET SOMETHING THEY JUST DO WITHOUT.

I live in Mi, but have spent some time (rock climbing) in Moab, Utah.  We all got the itch to go back with the women and take the quads out for a few days camping.  don't know when, now that we've got a little one and friends are starting to as well.  Might have to get a Toyhauler before too long:puke:.
