Hello to all. You guys/gals have a very nice site here with alot of good info. I currently have a '07 Honda Rancher 350. Kinda sad, but it is my first 4-wheeler and I'm an old guy! Grew up on bikes.

I've only had the 350 for about 4 months and have already out grown it. But it will be a nice second wheeler. I mostly ride with my 6 year old and lately been riding with him and the wife on-board, and loving it. But need a bigger one.

I'm looking at the 650 XT Max. I don't really think that I need the 800. We mostly just ride trails and occasionally slight mud. Not into the mud bogging thing, too expensive of a bike for that.

I rode two different 650 XT's today at two different dealers. Very nice!

Glad to have found you guys,

Bobby Harris

Thanks Outlandish for the welcome and helping me getting set up properly on the site.

I see that you have a 800. In your opinon, would I really see any major difference in the 800 and the 650 for my type of riding.

The style that I'm taking a liking to is just riding some trails and listening to tunes. A couple of buddies of mine have windshields and sterios. They have cup holders attached to their wheelers. They drink their beer and I have my sodas and water. I've rarely gotten out of 3rd gear unless we jumped onto a black-top road to get to the next trail.

Thanks,

Bobby

Sounds like the 650 would be better but there is not much difference in top end between these two. The biggest difference is the 800 has a lot more torque, making it easier to run monster tires. They both will run into the 70+mph range easily

For your riding style I would really take a look at the 500 Outlander.

Welcome to the forum. Whichever size you choose you will love the Can-Am max's.

Personally, if i were you i would probably go with the 650. Outlandish said the 500, and that is a very good choice. It will have plenty of power and is fuel injected. But if you are saying you are already outgroing the 400, i think you would probably outgrow the 500 after getting it as well. I dont think you would ever get bored with the power of the 650. Especially when you are carrying passengers and extra weight. I know everytime i get a bike i end up wanting bigger lol.

You will love whichever you get, but personally i would go with the 650 if i were in your position.
