Ive been lurking a while around here for a week, and figured its about time to sign up.

A little about myself:  Ive been riding dirtbikes since I was 9 years old and just last year I got rid of my KX250 and switched to a Honda Rancher 400 for play, but mostly for hunting and for work.  I hunt ducks and geese about 30 days out of the year and spend the rest of my time fishing, what a life.  :sm:

I dont have anybody to ride with around here so if anyone out there wants to go on a ride when it warms up a little give me a shout!

Heres a pic of my ride.

Welcome Quackhead. I consider myself a waterfowl hunting junkie and crave it like a fat kid at McDonalds. We will have to chat about hunting.

Thanks for the welcome Zac.  Hows the hunting up in the iron range?  Ive got a friend who has some land in Orr, he says the duck hunting is excellent at times, the deer hunting is great and of course the scenery is awesome.  Ill have to try and make it up there sometime!

Definetly. I hunt up near Orr on the Pelican River every year. Last year wasn't great up there, however we had some real good shooting days with the late Bills. Where do you usually hunt down there? I make a trip or two to Hutchinson every year.

Gotta love them late season bills.  Down here I usually hunt Dalbo or Cambridge, you can get some good action around those parts, but you usually have a lot of competition which can ruin it for ya.  Otherwise you'll find me in Fergus Falls, by far my favorite place to hunt.  Tons of public land around so if you want to work for em you can find them.

You mostly just hunt public lakes in F.F. then? How are the geese there?

Yeah, mostly public for me.  For geese we have a bunch of fields we have permission for early and late seaon, and I have some land in battle lake that you can shoot ducks on but I mainly deer hunt there.

Fergus has some of the best late season goose hunting around, in my opinon.  Theres a big pond in town that is kept open for most of the winter because a plant up the river keeps the water warm, so they usually roost there and will hit the fields on the outskirts of town in the afternoon.  And if you have one of those fields, well youre golden!  The otter tail river and Orwell help out a lot to.
