ATV Accident

A 34-year-old man and a 6-year-old boy are in the hospital after an ATV accident Saturday night outside of Tea.

Authorities say the 34-year-old man was driving drunk at 40 miles per hour when a pick-up truck ran a stop sign.  The ATV hit the pick-up and both passengers were thrown from the four-wheeler.

The two were air lifted to a hospital in Sioux Falls and are in critical condition.

ATV Accident Update

We have an update on the condition of two people sent to the hospital Saturday night. 31-year-old Jason Kunze and his 6-year-old nephew were on an ATV when they collided with a pick up on rural roads near Tea.

Authorities say the truck did not come to a complete stop. Both were transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. They are both listed in critical condition.

The accident happened west of Highway 17. The 31-year-old suffers from head injuries. The 6-year-old passenger has a broken collar bone, broken leg, and bruised lung.
