Anytime Don.  I think you have my e-mail, and you can always PM me if you wish.  There is also a core group of folks in the Twin Ports that try and ride every weekend, and I am sure there would be a few of us that could meet up somewhere.

Do you participate in the Handicapped ride up on the Range?  Everytime they have had it, I have been doing something else.  I would really like to go, as my wife and I have a son with special needs, and I don't know if he will be able to drive a machine himself someday, or if I will have to get a SxS.

Mike

I could try and make that ride this year. I have always been busy too but if I plan on it,  it may work out.

Official Press Release (as of Saturday)

ATV parade in northern Minnesota fails to break world record
The Associated Press

SILVER BAY, Minn. --
ATV riders who gathered for a parade in northern Minnesota fell just short of beating the world record.

An unofficial count Saturday evening had 1,083 ATVs participating in the parade in Silver Bay. That's 55 fewer than the current record held by the Ridge Runners ATV club of Evarts, Kentucky.

The All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota had hoped to attract 2,500 ATV enthusiasts to Silver Bay to take part in the parade.

But planners and spectators say they're happy with the turnout in Minnesota. They also say the event was good for the sport.

To qualify for Guinness World Records, the parade route had to be at least two miles, be constantly video taped from three different locations, and have two official counters from Silver Bay.

Organizers are planning to make a final recount either late Saturday or Sunday.

Very nice. It does look like a sea of ATV's. Wish I could have made it there.

Hello ATV Riders,

Well we couldn't have asked for better weather on the day of the parade. There

are so many people I would like to thank, all the volunteer't that helped out before

during, and after the parade, the sponsors, and to all the ATV riders that came to

help us break the record.

We didn't quite get it done but we came close; we were short 56 ATV's. Kentucky

still holds the record with 1,138 ATV's and our count was 1,083. Even though we

didn't break the record it was exciting to see so many ATV's in one spot! We have

received numerous emails stating how much fun everybody had and wondering if

we are going to try again next year. When the ATV Parade committee meets next

month, I'm sure that it will be one of the items that will be discussed. Please

check http://www.atvparade.net for updates. It was a lot of hard work but we met a lot

of nice people along the way.

On a personal note, I'd like to thank those that did join us for the day. Even

though we didn't break the record it was a very good day ATV riders as a whole.

Before we even got our of town, I had a number of people and business owners

stope to tell me that they were very impressed with how everybody conducted themselves. As far as I know, no one received a citation during the weekend. This

says a lot about ATV riders and will help our sport in the future.

We are working on making a DVD of the parade and having them for sale. We hope

this is done in the next couple of weeks.

Again, thank you for spending the day with us.
