When is everyone going up there? We will be going up on Thursday and should get there about noon and are going to hit the trails.

For those that have rode these trails before, do you need to carry gas with to run both trails or is there a gas supply near the trails so you don't need to use canned gas? The trail lengths together would warrant filling up to do the whole system and get back.

I guess we are going to stop in Moose Lake on Thursday morning and ride the Soo Line South to Dehnam Run for lunch (the best burgers around) and then take the kids to Wakahn (spelling?) on the south end of Mille Lacs Lake for ice cream cones then back to Moose Lake to load up and drive to Silver Bay in the afternoon it should be a good 115 mile run.
See ya all in Silver Bay...............

Latest Update

In just a few days Silver Bay will be buzzing with ATV’s and we will be on our

way to breaking the Worlds Longest ATV Parade Record.

There are a couple of things that I would like to touch on:

The ATV Parade will go on RAIN or SHINE

For those that have pre-registered you will receive your T-Shirts when you

check in and receive your parade packet at the staging field in front of the

AmericanInn Motel on Hwy # 61 in Silver Bay MN.

Registration is Friday 3-9 pm and Saturday 7:30-10:30 am due to the

amount of people that are going to be present please come early we need

everyone at the staging field so we have time to get every ATV lined up to

start on time

There are a few guide lines that we must meet for this event to be

considered by Guinness Book of World Records

ATV’s must be registered for the parade to participate in the parade

Once the parade starts all ATV’s must stay in the same order as when the parade

began

If you’re ATV breaks down please push it to the side immediately so the parade

can continue

There must be a 4-5 foot gap between the ATV’s no more no less

Guinness has set guide lines for the length of the parade so please follow the ATV

in front of you, DO NOT STOP to look at the rest of the ATV Parade we need to

keep the parade moving

Per Guinness guidelines we must video this parade in three different locations this

is why we must stay in order and no gaps, Guinness will securitize each video and

count each ATV

Please have patience

I believe they are closing the ATV trails this week-end and early next week so

they have the opportunity to repair them due to the rain they have received in the

last couple of days

Silver Bay has invited us into their community please be respectful

Ride as everybody watching and Talk as everybody is listening

Short of the record, or short of 2,500 Don?  I was in about the 35th row from the start, and there were another 15 or so rows next to me, for about 50 rows.  So if there were approx 30 machines per row, that would make approx 1,500 machines total.  That should at least break the record.  I know it took 45 minutes from the start before I even turned a wheel..........it was amazing to watch all those machines.

I could have counted wrong too.  It was difficult to keep the rows seperated when you start talking that many people and machines.  I was towards the back of my row, and we were mostly going by what the volunteers were telling us as they were guiding traffic.  So they could have been a little over optimistic.

They talked about making the unofficial count between 6:30 and 7, so that should be any minute now.  I am going to call a few of the folks I was riding with and see if they decided to stay or not.  I will post if I hear anything.

Mike

Here is the only pic I got before my dam camera died....in the back is the staging area. There are probably 4-500 wheelers back there at that time.

Most of the others I was riding left came home early as well, and the one guy that is still there is not answering his cell.

Here are some pictures my wonderful wife took of the event while she was running around with our son in his walking stroller.
