First Ever ATV Jamboree Rendez-Vous 2005 in Wawa

July 1^st and 2^nd  2005

Algoma ATV Tourist Association and the Township of Michipicoten are teaming up to host the “First Annual ATV Jamboree” in Wawa, Ontario on July 1^st and 2^nd 2005.This is an annual event, with each year circulating to a new location within the Algoma region for the purpose of promoting the sport of ATVing in Northern Ontario.



This year’s events are supported by the Northeast Superior Mayor’s group as they will be riding in from Dubreuville while joining up with other’s along the way. Each municipality has a by-law in place to allow ATVs on all or specific streets necessary to access services and trails.



This year’s events are being held at Mount Wawa Ski Hill in Wawa, ON. There will be two featured rides that will begin and end at Mount Wawa Ski Hill and will be guided by trailmaster Willy Smedts. He will lead riders through a number of natural, historic and wildlife panoramic views. The Trail rides will challenge all ATV riders as they cross through land patterns, rivers, streams, rock terraces and forest regions that only Northern Ontario has to offer.



Two other two main events that will be drawing in a crowd is the ATV mud bog and obstacle course. The mud bog will have each ATV rider race through a two foot depth of mud and muck and the course will have each rider maneuver through a course of pilons, rock outcrops and terraces. Both events will be scored upon best times.



Other such events at Mount Wawa Ski Hill will be a manufacturer’s expo with showcasing outdoor gear and services, good food and cold drinks, plus lot’s of cool games for everyone to enjoy. From there, participants will head down to the Community Centre for a Spaghetti Dinner in support of the 5^th Annual Black Fly Run and end the day with live entertainment and fireworks on the Downtown Beachfront in celebration of Canada Day.



On Saturday July 2^nd riders will participate in the annual Wawa “WOW” parade in celebration of Canada Day. ATV judges will give out a prize to who has the “Best Dressed ATV”. Their will also be live entertainment from Nuit added with dancing, food and beverages.
