With Sr's help, GOTT's engine hoist, and some WD40, the engine and transmission are out of the truck. The truck is down to a cab on a rolling chassis. And after calling the engine shop, we found out that the block has been bored, and they are almost done porting the heads. They are thinking we will be able to pick up the 521/C6 in one month. Maybe I should also have them port an aluminum intake manifold to match the ports on the heads.

More updates coming soon...

OK, today I should be getting a call from a place down in Faribault, MN that has a longbox off a 1975 Ford pickup...they said it was brought up here from Texas, and is "100% rust/bondo-free."

I just wonder how much this one is gonna cost...:hmr:

Take a look at LMC. They got a VERY good selection at fairly good prices.

First we gotta make the solid engine mounts. They have to be solid because the fender-exit headers are 35" wide to the inside when they are bolted to the engine. The frame is 34" wide, giving the headers a clearance of 1/2" per side; And this is just a rough measurement...might even be tighter than that.

Block is like 160 pounds, heads are 120 for the pair, and the headers are 60 pounds for the pair...340 pounds with nuthin' in it.:omg:
