That's not a bad idea, however I don't think that I would trust a 3/4" piece of tubing with some wimpy a$$ bolts holding onto a $7k piece of machinery. Plus they are anchoring the truck mount to the front of the bed, which is made of maybe 16 ga. sheet metal. I think that you could make something similar that was alot more sturdy for a little less than they are asking. My luck would have it so that the first big bump I hit, all I would see in the rear view mirror would be my new ride tumbeling end over end down the highway. :cry

i would have the locking part in the pick up bed, (no mud in the works/ no bashing it on rocks.)

but as to the mounts -per zac41- if you spread out the stress for the bolts say three or four grade 8 3/8 fine thread, and have the mount about three to four feet long, it will hold your quad in the bed of the truck, as the lock is only holding it from going backward, the biggest G forces will be when you try to stop.

do you close your tail gate when you are loaded up??

That thing looks like it would be very quick and easy but I still like my Louisiana Guard Dog

You know I can't remember. I called them when I ordered and explained rhat I had a drop bumper so I think it's the 30". The new ones are universal anyway and will fit most trucks.

Yes thats pretty much it. I do put a strap on the front so the suspension doesn't move so much but that isn't required. Leave it in neutral and set the parking brake, that thing isn't going anywhere.
