This is the place to get off the quads for a while and talk about the mighty pentestar. share your tales, ask your questions, whatever. My first Mopar was a 74 charger se, big block, 727 t-flite,and a 3:91 suregrip, it wasnt much to look at, but man would it go! Traded my 74 Javelin for it.If I close my eyes I can still smell the interior of that charger, sure do miss it.Someday, I will have another one.

Traded a 74 Javelin huh? Thats when their big motor was the 360 if I'm not mistaken. I had an AMX with a 401....yowzzer! That one rocked....Ok not a Mopar but kinda...How about a 64 Dodge Polara 500, candy apple red, hefty big block, manual valve body Torque Flite 727 and 410 gears with a spool...yeah not practical on the street but lots of fun!!!

Most of my muscle was GM so we won't talk about that here

spools on the street can be a lot of fun, but the cops fail to find any humor in them, they always seem to cause heavy foot syndrome.lol

One of the first BB's I belonged to was the Mopar Mailing List. Every post was done through email, not as efficient as the new forum technology:lolol:

My brother, "ice" just bough an new Dodge truck, 4 door, hemi with all the toys. Set him back over 40K in Alaska.

Anyone remember when you could buy a brand new big block Road Runner for less than 4K?.

Here are some things I collected when I was into the Mopar thing:

MOPAR logos

64 Dodge Ad

Another pic of my Dodge

Winter, first year

Last known pic

Found a couple more pics....sure do miss that car LOL

Tuning at the track. Had the dragstrip to ourselves for a couple hours.

Great pics outlandish, the 64 is awsome, I colect mopar memorabilia, so i am diggin yhe logos, I have the one from the 40's on my toolbox. Wish I had taken pics of all my cars over the years, but sadly, its just a recent thing. N ow, I take pictures of evrything, the older you get the more valuable pictures are.

Ithought I would post a little mopar story, for yall. I had a 73 duster with a hillside hemi in it and a 3 speed on the floor, mangums with white letter tires etc. Neat little car, cheap to drive, with the fold down back seat and the fold down panel between the back seat and trunk, great for girls!:ban:

So everybody was cruiseing on sat nite like usual, and a buddy of mine and I stopped in a parking lot to visit. He had a CJ-5, 350, 4spd,I told him that I was driveing my stick shift duster with my feet crossed, right foot on the clutch, left on the gas, "You should try it" says I, so he did, next thing, he goes to push in the clutch and pins the gas, tries to let off the gas, and drops the clutch, and drives that CJ right over the rear fender of my spotless duster, leaving a great big dent! All I could do was laugh, because it all happened so fast, it scared the snot out of him. He never tried that again. But we still laugh about it till this day.

My brother was a big mopar freak he had a 69 Dodge R/T that held many records at Minn Dragways that no longer exist, and was the fastest car in and around Rochester Mn. for many years, guys would trailer cars to Rochester from surrounding states to race him on a streach of road outside of town called ''Mopar Hill'' named after his R/T, he was also approched by a well known drag racer to join there team some of you might remember called Dick Landy. Here is a bit of triva I seen on two guys garage.

What is MOPAR short for?

Ill post the answer tomorrow if no one gets it.

MoPar was originally called Chrysler Plymouth Dodge DeSoto Motor Parts Division...then  Motor City Parts Company later shortened to Motor Parts Corporation (Dodge/Chrysler car parts division) and then Motor Parts ???

Some people say it comes from the early times of tinkering at the track it was covert operations of the research branch at chrysler when they were building there first factory drag car.
Management Of Power And Research

or do you have a funny one like ...

Made Of Parts Already Rusting

Miscellaneous Oddball Parts Assembled Ridiculously

My Old Pig Ain't Runnin

Most Often Passed At Races

Mostly Old Parts And Rust

hee hee ummmm ... Mostly Old People And Retards??? own em

:ban:I just brought my 2006 SRT-10 home from the dyno shop this morning.  For only having 200 miles on it, the numbers look pretty good.  Everything is stock right now, and I ran Sunoco 93 octane with Outlaw Octane Boost additive.  The HP number looks great at 415.6, but the torque number came in awfully low where the chart shows it.  Of course, the max numbers (423.9 HP and 467.3 ounds feet) look better, but probably came when the motor ran up against the rev limiter at 5500 RPM.  The dyno picked up the wheel speed bounce, but still pretty impressive numbers considering the chassis dyno figures (auto tranny and quad-cab) are going to lag about 25% behind engine dyno specs that always get quoted.  Now I have a baseline to compare future modifications to!  If anyone knows how I can attach a file larger than 87K, I can post the dyno chart I scanned.

The true meaning of MOPAR, Move Over People Are Raceing!

Kilr318, sounds like one butt whuppin truck, I wasnt sure about what was going to happen to mother Mopar when Daimler took over, but, so far its been pretty good, seem like they are serious about performace again. Cant wait to see your dyno sheets.
