Have heard good and bad about SP3, mostly Bad(expected). Other than a new restore point, anything I should do before letting it in?

This computer still isn't like it was before the crash. SP2 is good enough. If you are gonna download SP3, make sure you schedule an appointment at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc., because it WILL  up yer computer.

Well either the wife clicked the little icon this morning or it just went ahead and installed itself, no issues yet .

i installed it lately no issues. Actually working a little better now if anything, it seems.

I was told by dell if there is no problems with computer then do not install sp3

So far it has been a "seemless" install, absolutely no problems.

We have 3 XP machines, one has been upgraded to SP3. Install went OK but I've seen very little difference in performance. I installed SP1 on my Vista machine and it is faster
