I'd never get it on there without a zillion air bubbles......putting sponsor decals on my drag car gave me the same headache. It took a long time to get all the air worked out ands it looks ridiculous if you don't

I'm a decal nut (somewhat) and the only way is to put a couple drops of soap into a spray bottle of water and spray the surface and the decal with water, place your decal, and use a plastic squeegie with a couple downward strokes to sweep the water bubbles out.  It takes usually 24 hours for the adhesive to fully dry.

A hair dryer or heat gun helps if there are compound curves in the mounting area.  Sometimes, depending on the material of the decal, they are impossible to apply (like on the curved outside of a helmet).  There's almost always one last crease that is impossible to smooth out. A couple of times I had to put a razor slice in that last kink and overlap the edges.

Don't forget to use an alcohol wipe to take off the surface wax or oils first.  :2cent:
