A while back I was reading that the K&N alone didn't do a real great job of filtering the finer dust and that you need a prefilter like OuterWears over it

i have also heard that? i have a hard time believing its not a better filter than the stock? but i am concerned?Does not a cotton guaze filter  like this have oil? and do not they get more efficent at filtering when dirty?

i am going to check out what K& N has to say about off road use?

also 75% off time the dust is behind me

but not always  when riding with a group   in dusty conditions  this would be needed?

Yes i'd buy 1 of those but it has to be for the King Quad 700 Stock filter-then it would fit my K&N Universal Filter RU2430

K&N installed  has that roar  ?  maybe  I used my shop vac on this K&N filter  -to make sure i had no rubber trimmings inside filter from cutting flange off,you know with vac nozzle in filter and opening plugged by rag  i cannot even hear my vac  engine  work harder?thats how free the air flows .Now  do i need to use some weather stripping on bottom of K & N like the stock filter has? Or go the K&N method  rubberof filter  to rubber/plastic of bottom of airbox? feedback needed ??

K & N has a filter for the King now that is made for it. No more modding one and taking a chance of it not sealing.:ban:

http://shop.knfilters.com/KNShop/Product.aspx?pid=SU-7005

They also have a wrap to match.

K & N's always have the roar so you will know (or at least sound like you are) you are going faster!:dan:
