I just got home from my ride at the Soo Line South Trail, We started at Pierz and rode to Moose Lake (84 miles to hotel) and the trail was awesome! Some of the trail is under water for a half mile but is shallow. It does get very rough from Onamia to Isle and then about 15 miles further, I assume from all of the youths that were riding that streatch that would be the reason it is so rough---Lots of playing going on.

The trail is full of hardwoods and the tree color was awesome! We saw a lot of deer, grouse, moose, and a Black Bear. It was kind of cool and when it started to get dark when we arrived at Moose lake it was down right cold, The first half of our trip took us just 3 hours to travel the 84 miles--We ran out of daylight to make it to Superior WI like we wanted to ( late start ) but fell short by 35 miles. It took us 3 hours to return the next day.

For all of you that have not tried this trail, DO IT, it was a fun ride.

Thanks for the ride report. Sounds like fun. You saw a lot of wildlife, that is great. I will have to put this one on my list of future rides.
