Just above every OHV Park seems to close in October. Any suggestions as to where one can ride in the southern or central parts of the state. Are there any snowmobile trails open to ATVs? It especially would be nice to ride during the week if there's a few other riders in the area in case of problems. Northern IL isn't in much better shape. There a park open around Springfield, but thats 300 miles away. Open to suggestions.

I thought I heard the Black River Falls trails were open in the winter.

You're right. Thanks. The Black River falls area trails open up on Dec. 15th (Fri.), depending on weather. Everything is closed now for deer hunting season. Makes sense. Be neat to get a few of us WI 800's that live in the area together on the 16th if it ain't too cold. I like a 10:00am leave and ride to 3:00pm. Nice easy day's run. It's a mighty long time until Spring...

CLARK COUNTY RECREATIONAL TRAIL NOTICE
ALL CLARK COUNTY ATV, MOTORCYCLE, HORSEBACK, AND ALL LEVIS/TROW MOUND RECREATIONAL AREA TRAILS WILL BE CLOSED DURING SHOOTING HOURS OF THE FOLLOWING DATES:
OCTOBER 7TH & 8th (YOUTH DEER HUNT)
NOVEMBER 18TH – 26TH (WI GUN DEER SEASON)
DECEMBER 7TH – 10TH (ANTLERLESS DEER ONLY HUNT) ATV’s and motorcycles are permitted on designated trails during non-shooting hours. Use of ATV’s and motorcycles off of designated trails for means of personal conveyance is unlawful. Jackson County is host to some of the most popular ATV trails in the Midwest. Over 100 miles of trail wind through the scenic Black River State Forest and Jackson County Forest. The trails can best be described as sandy and rolling. All ATV TRAILS ARE CLOSED. TRAILS WILL RE-OPEN ON DECEMBER 15TH DEPENDING UPON WEATHER CONDITIONS.
