Well the better half and I are wanting to go up in the Duluth (area) maybe further north to ride for 3 days on the Labor Day weekend.

I have never been riding in that area and want to know where to ride, We want to ride all day and from motel to motel and end up in the starting piont  (If we can).

Let me know what you think

Your best be for that kind of ride would be the Tri-Corridor trail out of Superior heading east towards Iron River, Ashland, the UP. A lot of old RR grade though and very dusty. There are a lot of connecting trails from there. Try doing a search for the Deadhorse trail. I'm pretty sure that connects. There is nothing like that in N Minnesota. WI is way more ATV friendly too

Thats what I have been hearing.

I've been to Park Falls Wisconsin before so we just might go back there to do this 3 day ride. They do have it nice in Wisconsin with every little town which caters to the ATV's  because they see it as a boat load of money from the tourists just like snowmobiling and fishing, hunting.....You build it and they will come.....Boy do they come out to ride the trails in wisconsin.

Too bad the MDNR does not think that clearly, Just maybe the little resort owners would not fold like most of them are from lack of revenue.

Thanks for your info

Park Falls is a great area. Beautiful trails and very ATV friendly. We rode down there a few years back at the ATV Nation national ride. The Moose Jaw resort is a good place for camping. From there you can ride 100's of miles of trails

FYI

A lot of trails in Wisconsin are shut down right now due to the fire hazzard in the reigon:cry:

They will be closed until further notice and will take a "few heavy rains" before they lift the bans

OK where is this place in Ontario? and how far from Duluth MN?

Wow that looks great but if I only had more than 3 days I could do it.

I will keep it in for reference in my favorites

Thanks

Hey Two Bears,

Try Bayfield County, nice place to stay is a motel in Washburn called North Coast Inn & Chalets.  Trail is right behind the motel with access to hundreds of miles of trails, routes and fire roads.  Mike and Mary treated us like family and we will definately go back in the fall for a color ride.

Valhalla area is great with lots of twisty, hilly area to explore.  The view from up by a fire tower was breathtaking.

South out of Iron River is also a great ride.

Will post pictures soon as we just got back and haven't downloaded them yet.

FYI - Tri-county corridor is extremely rough in many stretches.  Very hard to go faster than 25-30 mph, also very dusty.

Washburn county has closed all atv trails because of the drought but we are planning to go there for an overnight  and then go to birchwood to Park falls for the next 2 days of riding if the trails open up again

Well I finally found a place to bunk at, Almost every place I called was booked for the Labor Day weekend.

I got a room reserved in Birchwood WI and we will take off from there for 4 days!!!

We are wanting to put on 400 - 500 miles in that time frame ( I hope that we don't break down) The last time we were up there we had a new 500 ho limited with less than 50 miles on it and it quit running on the trail and I had to pull it out of the timber for about 15 miles and then we rode double on my 02 500 HO for 50 miles to get back to the truck so we could go back down to load the sick wheeler on the trailer. What a bummer!

Rideing 50 miles double SUCKS!

But anyways we will have fun running the long trails in WI :ban: I can't wait.

Well we had fun on the ride.

We were on the road to Birchwood WI and just before the exit off the interstate to go into WI my wife decided that we should go to Moose Lake and run the SOO Line trails. We called the hotel and they had a room so we went there ( The weather forcast was drier)

Well we only got to ride for 2 days but we ( the kids were missing us too much ) but we rode a lot and we put on 320 miles by the time we put them back on the trailer.

It is a beautiful ride and we saw a lot of critters (I almost hit a bear) That was cool ! ! We did not get any rain so it was a good choice to go ride here but it was dusty.

The ride to Supierior WI was great except that there was NO GAS at the end of the trail (thank goodness for a nice local person who gave us gas) WI should extend that trail into a town that has gas so that the town could get some money out of the ATV riders.

We even did a night ride on the SOO Line south trail for about 40 miles there are no other riders at night on the trail so it was dust free and a nice ride.
