i'm new to this forum, my screen name is back2sportsman on highlifter, this is my first post here. if anyone loves to ride in the mountains, you need to check out the apline loop in lake city colorado. we just returned from vaction there and it was the most scenic trail riding i have done to date. the snow on top of the mountains was still melting, making hundreds of waterfalls, and mountain streams. there are several very well preserved ghost towns that you can still go into. there are over 200 miles of trails, we rode for 4 days,200 miles and still did not get to see everything or ride all the trails. the apline loop its self is 65 miles one way, the trail system ends in the town of lake city and atv are not alowed to ride on city steets so you have to turn around and go the way you came, witch will end up into a 130 mile ride. the town of lake city was great, every one was very friendly, we were not used to all the hospitality comeing from the dallas area, we're more used to rude people than friendly. there are several great resturants to eat at, there is an italian place that is owned by a husband and wife from rome, so the food is real italian. the A&A steak house is also owned by the couple and had some of the best steaks i have ever had. Souther Vittles was also a great pleace to eat, the chicken fryed steat was awsome. do not eat at the blue iguana, its a mex place and was terrable, taco bell was 100x better than this place. if you have a can-am or a polaris there is a dealership in the town of lake city. this is where i bought my can-am, i have bought over 15 atv's between me and my family, and i recived the most friendly customer service ever. Bobby is the tech there that looked at my popo to see why it was over heating. turned out that a seal behide the water pump whent out and was pumping oil into the cooling system and would not alow the system to peresurize. thats why i am now a bomb owner. i will have pictures of our ride posted on my web page in the next week. http://www.adeesatv.com

so far i like it. its going to take some geting used to, i am used to rideing polaris and kawi's. i oredred wheels today  so that i can mount 28" zilla's, i will be snorkeling it with in the next few weeks and adding skidplates.

i have noticed that there are not any vent lines from the front and rear diff, just the white boot. do i need to remove those and run vent hoses from them or are they good from keeping water and mud out?

i am the only person in my riding group to get a bomb, as to date we have never even seen one on the trails. we ride in the dallas area and in the mud of east texas. so if everything goes well i will hopefully be able to start promoting the bombs and maybe we'll start to see more of them on the trails.  i know on the hl forum there really isnt much activity on the bomb page, i would like to help change this and get more people interested in them.  i think the number one thing that is hurting bomb is the price and alot of people cant justife the price. over all i feel this is going to be a great machine. wish the visco lok was able to be shifted on the fly, that will take geting used to but that is my only complaint.

i look forward to geting to know the guys on here and if anyone is in the dallas let hook up and go ride. i would like to be able to watch one of these atv's in action instead of just rideing one.  that is the best way to get a better idea of how well a atv actually works in the real world.

I agree 100% about the Alpine Loop. Also, try the Tik Tok diner in Lake City. Great food.

We rode about 230 miles in 5 days and the scenery is awesome. We had two Outlander MAX', two Polaris Scramblers and two Yamaha Grizzlys.  My 800 was the only EFI and the only one to still run good at 12,000'

Here is a pic of the remaining road bed for the old narrow gage train that ran thru the Alpine Tunnel.
