Anybody how strict the 48" width rule is in WI. I haven't measured it yet but I'm thinking I might be closer to 52" with the offset wheels and fender flares.... Now that I think of it that's about the same width as my azz....Anyway I understand you have to go through some gates at times. How tight are these, or are they mostly to keep the trucks out? :omg:   It would be awful if the bike fit and I didn't.....GOTT

LOL I put my stockers on last time because of my paranoia of getting a ticket but everyone says they aren't too strict about it. I've see a lot of bikes with aftermarket rims...Never been through any gates myself yet so i don't know how wide they are. I'm about 52" myself

I ride in Clark county quite a bit nad there are some areas with posts that you have to go thru and I have to be pretty square to them to make it with my stock 800XT. So I don't really know, but they seem tight to me.

Just got the new WI trail guide. If you don't have one order it free from WI DNR. It's the best I've seen, check out their website. Haven't decided which trails to try first but I'm headed that way first chance I get. Then I can ride without a disguise and not have to worry about getting in one of Folgers videos.  :lololol:.....GOTT

Ya, I see it. No problems big guy! :)

I already let Folgers know that. He can take it as he wishes.

Picking goes both ways.

I'll see you all on the trails someday and hopefully on a more mature level from both sides. ;)

DNR Against New ATV Trails In Northern Wisconsin

2008 State Department of Natural Resources officials plan to present their recommendations for new all-terrain vehicle trails in northern Wisconsin. And that recommendation is that new ATV trails should not be constructed in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest.

The DNR has been studying potential new ATV trails that would run through Vilas, Oneida and Iron counties for more than two years. After hundreds of hours of research and thousands of letters from area residents, DNR officials say the plan doesn't provide a cost-effective trail development plan that is sustainable and meets rider expectations.

Researchers say they also faced opposition from residents and many ecological concerns. The DNR will present their recommendations to the Natural Resources Board on Wednesday. The board will then make the decision whether or not to go ahead with construction of the trails.
