Thinking of updating to Vista? This is hilarious but mostly true

Clever video that gets a few smiles but I disagree on Vista.  I've used it for the last 3 years and was involved with the video driver development.  Vista is much better than XP.  Under the hood, Microsoft made many changes to the archtecture that result in MUCH more stabilty.  I've found that 99% of the hate comments that you find on the internet are from people that haven't used it, don't understand it, and simply hate Microsoft.  If you have the horsepower to run it, it's an excellent OS.  Older machines can run it too but just need to have features turned off.

Yeah, Vista, and then put Dell and Qwest and MSN and Comp USA  in front of it and on top of it, that was a long couple of days right there, especially for a slide rule guy.

First thing to do is download 25 updates, 84 megs, then register everything, authenticate everything, to Dell and Windows and Microsoft Office.  Finally got to the point where I just told Microsoft and Windows to go automatic on everything, you know best, just stop asking me all these questions.

Does anybody else remember the first windows (95) system that took 33 floppys to load?  For some reason, we used to format the hard drive a lot, just erase the thing!  Don't think that would be a good idea with Vista.  The only computer that could run XP or Vista then was in NORAD underneath Cheyenne Mtn about 20 miles west of here, and took up half the mountain.

No reason to complain though, haven't had but one problem, windows fixed it by itself, my only contribution was to push the enter key when asked.  No crashes, no nothings.  All the peripheals better have a USB plug comin' out of them though.  Guess that's why we got Comp USA's everywhere, spent another $150 there.

All of that just to beat those 3 other people living in this machine at hearts! :sm:

Hmm. I think it loads pages much quicker. It also is much more "organized". I like the layout alot better than xp. Downloading music *wink wink* is a breeze. A minute tops for a 5 minute song.

LOL I keep hearing about more and more people snuffing their hard drives and putting XP on. Unless you spend about $3000 on a laptop, it will be very slow....

Here's a vid from CNET a trusted company IMO

Vista seems to be geard toward music and pictures, I don't need it for music and very little for pictures, most of the other programs that come loaded on it are 30-90 day trial programs and you still need a 25 numbered key. The works programs are becoming worthless, lets take out more of the feature on these until they aren't good for anything.

The word START must have been to hard for some geek to understand, it was replaced with Pearl. What the hell dose the word pearl have to do with starting a machine? (Most people knew what start meant.) Hey Joe, PEARL your pickup and let's go have a cold one.

I now have a new computer with Vista, (BIG DEAL), it's worthless as far as I'm concearned. One 3,300.00 program and another at 1,500.00 and neither one will run on this Vista. Including the computer that's 5,800.00 I could just as well tossed in the garbage.

Now I will have to go out and buy a XP OS and formatt the hard drive, then load everything else. What I end up with is a new computer that is obsolete. So stick it Microsoft, you are getting rid of a lot more than just a few game programs.
