update from that ice storm, and a statement...

Ice was everywhere, I keep my carton of cigarettees in my truck. Neither door would open... I went 6 hours without smoking and finally got the door open after the sun shined over the barn onto my truck door to where I could finally get it open and grab my smokes.

We have 4 or 5 inches of snow covered in ice, and now 5 or 6 inches of snow from last night covering that.

How many feet of snow you guys have up North?

Add around 5 or 6 more inches of snow from Saturday night Sunday morning.

+11 degrees now.

54 degree temp drop after two 42 degree days. lost alot of the snow cover them nice days.

Today was more of a reality, started snowing, and a blowing, the schools a let out early, I-90, and I-35 were closed due to numerous vehicle pile-ups... temp is at -15,

windchill is in the -30's, blizzard warnings all day up to midnight!

Yep, I called in and took the night off!

same down here, them that didnt yesterday were the first to close schools today.

I am gonna wait until afternoon and start my truck, brush it off, and get a pack of smokes out of there.

Guess I better pack my carharts for work. Leaving for SS.Marie tomorrow at 10 am. Gotta catch the ferry to Manatoulan Island at 1:30 to cut 4 hours driving time. It cost about the same with the price of fuel last year, prolly cheaper now. Seriously thinking of going through Michigan. 7 hours vs 11 hours and no waiting for a ferry. Plus as a bonus we could have chicken fried steak at supper...mmmm...chicken fried steak...can't get that here! :pu:
