Well I was ditch riding and I hit a steel fence / sign post that was laying at an angle in the tall grass.

The next day it was flat so I pluged it with 2 plugs and it held until today it is very low so it did not do the trick.

The hole is over a 1/4" and is on the sidewall

Can I patch it? Tube it or is it junk?  Any ideas?

You can put a patch, I would use a truck boot, and then run a tube in it.

The only dissadvantage to a tube, if you puncture the tire again,no matter how small,  you have a instant flat. The air will leak out the valve hole. Next problem cannt plug it and how do you break a bead lock down on the trail to patch the tube.  I'd replace the tire as first choice. Second patch it and hope the patch doesnt break loose from sidewall flexing, Third leave the plugs in it add a good sealant and air occassionally.
