Are the new Grizzly's the same as they were back in 02? Have they resolved the heat/vapor lock thing? Any improvements at all?

I can tell you on the 05's all those issues seem resolved lets say 90%, some people are still experience them. But on my wife's 05 no problem, unlike my 02.

It is one of the bikes I have considerred to buy this spring......the price is good on them. I have a friend with an 02 and he has had the gas boiling thing with his. I don't want that headache if you know what I mean. But if the new ones are cured of that and with a set of wider rims and tires, I think I might like the Grizz.

The 02's were a mess, but were easily correctable. The Grizzly is turning in to the Big Bear a bulletproof machine. It has been out for three years now, and 99% of the bugs have been worked out. Like I said my wife's 05 Grizz runs great, and has not had the earlier problems. Its a great machine, and I would of bought another one if it had an EFI system.

Oh to help with the stability you can add wheel spacers to push the wheels out a littl further.

But it is still the same grizz as the 02 only without the overheating. Powerwise, is it decent? How about the engine braking? I know Yamaha has got it down good on belt life. Do you think it will turn 28's Ok without risking shaft or joint failure and will they rub?......Sorry to be racking your brain about this but, like I said I am going to buy something this spring and want to research all the big bores

You know Outlandish, I have had my 02' overheat only once, and that was when I had 1/4 inch of mud packed on the radiator. We ride in alot of hot temps too.

Nicki's 05 no overheating we have been in temps over 100 this summer without any problems. I would worry about it.

EBS is okay, not bad. But I am now holding it to the Outty EBS which is unfair. I never was annoyed by it, but would of liked to see it a little stronger. On my video section you can see the 05' EBS in 2wd Lo and 4wd Lo.

Belt system is the best on the market, zero problems, no slips, or burning up issues. I hope the Outty belt system is as good as the Grizz.

I personally feel 28s are a little too big for it. 27s are perfect, don't get me wrong the Grizz will turn them, but its alot of stress.

Its a great machine Yamaha really has nearly perfected the beast. If they came out with an EFI Grizz I probably would of stuck with the Grizz, even though its not as well balanced as the Outty 800.
