I had this posted on another forum and thought there might be some interest here. I went to my dealer yesterday and test drove the new 700. The power steering really sold me on it and I brought it home yesterday afternoon. It does'nt matter to me what anyone thinks about a quad with power steering but I am completely sold on it. I have had it on some really rough rocky trails and purposly ran over large rocks,in to some deep ruts and off camber rutted trails. The steering never had any bump steer and is so easy to steer on any kind of terrain. I put it in diff lock and it just steers slightly harder, but very easy. I have found on my other quads including my outty 800 that if I put much weight on the front racks it can really increase steering effort. You don't have to worry about it with this steering set-up. It is actually fun to drive it on pavement as it turns so easy. The 700 to me seems to bog down a little on low end and the outty 800 out shines it in the power department. I really haven't opened it up yet until I get a few more miles on it. The ground clearance is advertised to be 11.8 inches and I measured mine at 11 inches with shocks on softest setting. I can certainly live with that. Also the front lower A arms have been redesigned with an arc in them so you have more clearance over a wider area in the front and just not at the center. The exaust system looks to be really well designed. Most of the exaust pipe is covered with a heat shield from the side cover to rear of quad. The section of pipe below seat has a heat shield all the way around pipe. Heat is not an issue on this quad. The engine compartment on both sides is almost totally closed with side covers except for about a 4 to 6 inch opening on each side. I think the clutch has more noise than the outty but has very smooth engagement. I just hope this belt will wear as good as my outty 800. The ride in my opinion doesn't come close to the 800 but I think feels better than it is because of the light steering effort. I am sure it will improve some after the shocks have been broken in. Accessability to maintenance items are not as easy as my 800. It looks like more bolt and screw attachments to get access to maintenance items. The battery is under front rack as well as the fuses. Skid plates seem pretty lite but at least has something. CV joints could have better protection in my opinion also. The 700 has no U joints as drive shafts are both in line with engine. I have not had it over about 5500 feet elevation so I don't know if the efi will perform as good as the outty yet. I do find if starting shortly after shutting down and eng is hot it takes more cranking to start than the outty. The engine braking is very good but not quite as good as the outty. I find on really steep hills that I have to give the 800 a little gas to get down and the 700 maintains good engine braking but with slightly more speed. The disc brakes are very good and I have not heard any noise from them. It has separate front and rear brake levers as well as rear foot pedal. The transmission is sometimes hard to get in low and to get into park, but unlike the outty you can put some force on it and it will go. I am always afraid of bending the linkage if I try to force the Outty in gear. I have compared as best I can my outty 800 and the new Grizzly 700,as they are the only two belt drive machines I have ridden much. I love the Outty 800 and don"t plan selling it. It is definitely a good ride in the winter with the heat it puts out. Both the 800 and the 700 have their good and bad points and I think they are both great machines. I don't ride mud if I can avoid it and try to not get in real deep water as I expect to get a lot of miles on my toys and I don't think riding in those conditions will do that. That is just my riding style and it may not be yours. This is why I can't give an opinion on how these machines will do in the mud or how deep the water is before it slips the belt or engine dies.

Give review Drpep, can't wait to get my machine. Should be in a couple weeks. I rode one in the parking lot the other weekend, and the power steering, well one word awesome.
