LaMigra, How do compare the 700 Griz to your brother inlaw's King quad. I just sold my 05 650 V-2 and will be buying one or the other next week. By the way you have a great couple of websites. Thanks

My guess is that LM is doing a 5 page comparison test of both right now, and that is why he hasn't answered (unless it was an in-depth PM like he helped me with!). What would the diff. be? They probably have about the same power, a little less lag from the Grizz., the ride and cornering would probably be close. My guess is that the Grizz. would do better in 4x4 ability and it's PS would probably push it ahead. Just my guesses. KC

I would think that the ride would be more plush with the new Grizz. I was shocked how well it rode and how easy it turns. Good power too.

By the way you have a great couple of websites. Thanks Nice one KC, yeah I might pull a book on this one, lol. No this one will be short and sweet. Sorry it took so long to get back, just been super busy. DC, if we were talking about the KQ 700 vs Grizz 660, hands down the KQ 700, and I would tell you take my word for it. The KQ 700 is 1 times as good as the Grizz 660. However, Yamaha really stepped up with the Grizz 700, and basically corrected every definceny with the Grizz 660. I have ridden the KQ 700 for six months straight, and nearly every day, I have also ridden the Grizz 700, in a dirt parking lot. Real quick, the Grizz 700 is on par with the KQ 700, and I dare say slightly better. Ride, comfort, and handling, it feels like the KQ 700, to me they are very close. That wasn't the story with Grizz 660. Without measuring the Grizz 700, it appears the ground clearance is much higher than the KQ 700. I know some guys with 26" tires, are getting 13" of GC. The Grizz 700, has new angled front a-arms, which actually does provide better GC. Without a doubt the CVT intakes are 100 times better on the Grizz 700. The KQ front intake is fairly high up by the air box, but the rear intake is just below the rear rack, and will suck water in big time. The Grizz 700 is just like the SP 800, both front, and rear CVT intakes are up near the handlebars, awesome!!! Can-Am needs to take a lesson on these CVT intake locations. Power wise, without really opening the Grizz 700, they felt the same to me in 20 foot run. The Grizz is 686cc, and the KQ is 695cc. Neither one of them really stands out too me, as far as power, I would say a slight advantage to the KQ, but not much. I just have been spoiled with the OL 800, and expect too much. Don't get me wrong power wise there is more than enough to do whatever you want too do. Brakes, hands down the Grizz 700 brakes are a tons better, than the KQ. You just can't beat four disc brakes on all four wheels, and you really feel the difference. Both have two brake levers, which is awesome. Storage the same, no advantage. Other than Yamaha slapping Suzuki in the face with the right front fender storage compartment, thats funny, since the KQ 700 always had that. Lighting is a little better on the KQ, of course with a third pod headlight it will always be slightly better. Airbox intake on the Grizz alot better. There are a series of traps to collect mud, dust, etc... before it even gets close to the motor. KQ you must replace the stock filter, the stock setup is poor. Of course the lockers the are same on both, zero advantage to either machine. They are by far the best on the market. Same applies to their 4wd system. This is the first time I can't think of a negative on a 4wd/locker system. Steering, did I say how much I love the Grizz 700, power steering, awesome, just great. 100% times better than the KQ. When I had the diff lock applied, I was steering with one hand. The KQ with the diff lock applied, the steering is very heavy, and the 4wd is heavy. You won't find that with the Grizz 700, every machine needs power steering. Huge advantage over the KQ. Those are the big ticket items. Again, as many of you know I am huge fan of the KQ 700, great, great machine. It really out shined the Grizz 660, however, as Can-Am was gunning for the BF 750, Yamaha was gunning for the King Quad 700. Yamaha was sick and tired of hearing how the KQ was the more refined version of the Grizz 660. Well they answered with the Grizz 700, and it is on par, and slightly better than the KQ 700. Here is the deal DC, if it were me, and I had to choose between the KQ or Grizz 700, I would choose the Grizz 700. Now if you don't want to pay the high price tag on the Grizz the KQ is just as a capable machine, and you would have a fine machine, no doubt. However if you are like me, and find the better CVT intakes, better air box, and better steering worth the extra money you will buy the Grizz 700. I should have my wife's Grizz 660 sold shortly, and we will immediately buy the Grizz 700, its that good. If I didn't think it was better than the 660, or KQ 700, I would just keep the 660. I can tell you now this new Grizz 700, will be running up against my OL 800, and soon to have SP 800. I am giving an entire year with each machine, head to head, and I dare say the Grizz 700 will out shined both of them. That is just speculation and I don't like to jump the gun, and I will let each machine prove me wrong, but for a great overall machine, the Grizz 700 will be tough to beat. It won't give you that wow/fun factor ride like the OL 800 will do, but it is a very solid machine, and it is very capable. Listen, just re-designing those CVT intakes is huge, you can literally ride almost too the handlbars if need be, no snorkel. Right out of the box, its a tough machine. DC, just depends if the extra money for the Grizz 700 vs the KQ 700 is worth it, and I feel it is. If you need more info let me know.

well i just got to see the new grizz yesterday . although i didn't get to ride it i can already say the seat is soooo much more comfortable than the old.. it was a huge dealer so i got to sit on the brute force ,king quad, polaris sportsman 700 and 800 . and the grizz's seat was almost as comfortable as the polaris. and compared to the others . it seems smaller.... oh and i also noticed it has a shorter wheelbase than the older one..
