Well before I bought the outty I was hoping for a 750 or 800 grizzly, but for years it seems that yamaha has been reluctant to do a v-twin in their atvs any idea as to why? other  than a larger motor they seem to already have a really good product

I agree that they have a gret product but are going to have to step up with a 750+cc motor.  I am not sure why they are reluctant to move into vtwin land.  I will see what I can dig up on it.....

I was waiting last year and was disappointed, this might be the year for something good. Good things come to those that wait, we'll see.

I waited like a sucker too, no more yamis 4 me. They're starting to think like honda. Change a sticker or color every year and thats it. And whats up with the rhino. Instead of putting the 700 raptor motor in it, they put a 450 , obviously underpowered for the machine, in it .

well anyway ,like he griz, the rhino is in desperate need of a bigger ,fuel injected motor. And yami seems to be content offering a smaller motor instead, and cosmetic changes every year.Someone needs to be fired imo

About a month ago my buddy put a griz cpu in his rhino , gained a bit of power, raced my other buddys rancher. It was neck & neck but the rhino took him eventually.Turtle parade

Yep, that's what I'm hearing too, the EFI 700 Raptor motor in the new Grizz.  Certainly not the improvement everyone is looking for.  More Outty sales for sure!

The new Grizzly 700FI gets a bump in displacement from 660cc to 686cc. The power improvement comes directly from Yamaha's potent Raptor 700R engine.  However, Yamaha didn’t bolt a Raptor engine in, and as such, you shouldn’t expect the same type of power delivery found in the Raptor.  Instead, Yamaha built a more mannerly engine with a very linear power curve that feels much like the smooth delivery found on the Suzuki King Quad 700.  I was looking for a bigger displacement, but I think everyone will admit the Grizzlys are one of the most reliable machines out there. I think the power steering would be nice on long trail rides esp for us older riders, but as I look at it, if it works, fine but another thing to go wrong.  Now its time to make the decision, deal or no deal..
