I traded in my outlander 400 and bought a Yammie 700.  Only have 500 mi. on it but can't say I'm sorry I got it.  It was a tough choice between the Yammie and the 650 outlander. My buddy bought an outlander 650 and broke down 3 times--he then bought a 700 Yammie and put on over 3k last summer. He is the one who talked me into switching.  He informed that he owned 11 different atv's over the years and he enjoys the Yammie the most.  Mine is camo with a winch but no eps.  thinking I should have gotten that also.

Big mistake not getting the EPS. It is what makes the grizz 700 so good. Without it is an average quad and slow for a big bore.

I have the grizz 700 EPS and outy 650 max. Both are very reliable and great quads. I am sure you will enjoy

I disagree with the power steering. I owned a 700 Grizz last year with eps and I didn't just love it. I loved the Grizz but if I bought anothe one rigt now. I would not get the EPS, I think you made the perfect choice.

Thanks guys, I spoke with another 700 owner and he bought his with the EPS.  He agrees with most of you and says the power steering is just not worth the extra money.  I am very satisfied with mine. I only have 500+ miles on but those are good miles. We plan a trip to the U.P. of Mi. this Sept. for 4 days and I plan on putting on quite a few more miles then.

I think the EPS is worth the money. But its a luxury, and not needed. If you want to have nice easy steering for long trips, or if you have trouble steering a quad with meaty tires due to injury or something like that.

The grizz is still a good a good bike, excellent all around machine. Give it a little more power, and its a tough one to look away from.

I think that EPS is one of the big selling features of the machine. When you lock all four wheels in, you can actually steer and control the machine. That is a BIG plus for rock crawling!

jmo, when u got the front locked in, u shouldn't be doing much steering as it will be hard on cv joints, axles, or whatever the weekest point is.I learned my lesson in my old toyotas with welded spider gears. The eps could contribute to this by forcing it without u feeling the feedback, allowing u to do more steering than u should be doing.Just a thought. It would still be nice in tight trails though at times, not locked in usually.

oops...click happy, repeating myself

So, there's no hydraulic pump of any kind?  It's an electrical assist?

yup

http://www.atvscene.com/machines/yamaha/grizzly-07.html

The combination of power steering and well-mannered independent suspension allowed us to" bomb" over trees and anything else in our way.

that must be a bombardier plug,lol.....why is this red ???

Got the chance to ride a friends Grizz with EPS.. Pretty neat. He ended up rolling the quad, messed it up pretty good.. If I recall correct he said the EPS still worked after the roll.. Pretty tough unit..

Got 1ooo mi. on her now.  Tried to see who was tougher, me or the quad,  Laid her over on the side, but seeing as how I am the perfect physical specimen and as how I  outweigh her by 40 pounds, I managed to get her back on all 4 and rolling again. No damage to the quad, but I had a good piece of road rash on my side. I find that she sits a wee bit high--or is it just my imagination?

Nah ..You are right.. the Grizz does set up high for the rider and can be a little top heavy...
